I know that. I didn't say shoot them. I said throw yourself at them. In this case you may have been killed, but the rest of the party would have been spared because at that point the perps would be running for the hills because they had lost control of the situation.

Allowing the perps to maintain complete control didn't work out too well, did it? Kidnappers are very bad people. Very few kidnap victims come out of it alive. Never go with kidnappers. Do whatever is required to remove control of the situation from them, if you possibly can.
