Locking criminals away for a long time would be detrimental to our legal system.

Mobile County Metro Jail records show Moore has faced multiple arrests since 1987.

If you lock them away forever, at some point the legal system would have much, much less to do. That translates to fewer judges, clerks, lawyers, court reporters, police, .... Fewer criminals means justice served swifter & less costly. What lawyer/legislator wants that?

No, we have to release these predators after about 6 months in jail so that they can feed the legal system & all its hungry jackals.

This is why criminal laws are written (of the lawyers, by the lawyers, for the lawyers) in 10-20,000 words or MORE. Complex laws REQUIRE many lawyers & judges to interpret them in a way that best suits them, justice & public safety be damned.

Here's an idea: Anyone found guilty of a crime of violence or the threat of violence goes to jail for life, making pebbles from boulders with a sledge hammer. Anyone found guilty of injury or death of a victim gets the death penalty via public hanging. It wont be but a few years before crime, especially the violent kind, diminishes significantly, primarily because the vast majority of repeat criminals are dead or in jail.

This is exactly what’s wrong with our so-called “justice system.” Our courts have a “blank check” from the taxpayers. They keep churning these thugs at the risk to the citizens paying for their shell game.

How much has this one worthless thug cost taxpayers? Multiple arrests, court appointed lawyers, law enforcement, grandstanding judges, prisons, healthcare, courts, food, etc.? Fortunately, this worthless thug that these grandstanding “honorable” judges kept churning onto innocent taxpayers didn’t kill anyone yet .... or at least not that we know of.

We hear of judges turning them free because they’re concerned about humane conditions for these criminal thugs. What about humane conditions for innocent citizens? The thugs that commit violent crime should be moved to an island where they cannot leave and no one can visit or spend the rest of their lives in a cage.
