TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A new poll released by KSN-TV in Wichita shows the U.S. Senate race in Kansas could be close.
The poll, conducted by Survey USA shows Democrat Chad Taylor within 5% points of three-term Republican incumbent Pat Roberts. The poll shows Roberts leading at 38%. Taylor has 33%.
This poll simply confirms what were hearing as we visit with real Kansans throughout the state -- they are ready for new blood, said Taylor. Our message isnt being heard by raising million dollar war chests or polluting the TV with insulting campaign ads. Ive abandoned the political playbook my opponents are reading from and Ive decided to actually speak with the people of this state to hear what their concerns are. This poll shows us that jobs, the economy, veterans, and fiscal responsibility are issues that dont belong to a political party. Those sort of labels are used to divide us. Moderates are looking for a commonsense alternative in this race and I represent that choice.
Roberts faces a challenge in the GOP primary from Milton Wolf. Roberts announced an endorsement Thursday from former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.

I don’t think we want a Democrat, we want Roberts, who lives in Virgina, gone. But do we want Wolf? Who knows.
Roberts wins by 10 pts
Only 71% of the voters support one or the other. There’s a declared independent running - Greg Orman. In the missing 29% his or are they all undecided?
Now Roberts is running ads claiming Wolfe doesn’t understand Kansas farmers because he lives in Leawood (in KCMO metro, on the border with Mo). I guess they think the establishment, media, and fund supremacy will give them enough cover, since Roberts lives in Virginia.
I know I won’t vote for Roberts at all.
