Start with selectable yield battlefield neutron weapons. Some so small a man could hold it in one hand. Able to kill everything an an area as small as a few hundred yards diameter and leave everything else intact.
Perfect weapons to use to take control of the Iranian nuclear sites. Hydrogen can shield you from the neutron bombardment (i.e. WATER) People in tanks or similar have no protection.

Oh, as icky as it sounds you could launch a neutron weapon at a site and then move a small force in to take control of the area.
If you dig a small trench and put something like plywood on top and then pile the bodies of the dead enemy on top the trench becomes a safe zone because of the hydrogen in the dead bodies. If you need to launch further small neutron weapons then sending them straight up over the trench and detonating them means your troops inside the trench have protection. A pile of dead bodies is like a pile of salty water you see... we are mostly made of water.

He was WRONG in wasting time trying to set up a democracy there. He should have rolled through Iran and Syria, removed the threats there and left them to their own devices.

But NOOOOOOOOO. He had to listen to the Brits and others who told him that by staying there and helping these poor benighted people stumble towards democracy - in effect compressing ALL the centuries that separated Anglo-Saxon Common Law from the Constitution into a few years, we would be able to achieve that objective.
