The couple had been on the road for 18 days since leaving El Salvador, but when they heard the news about presidential prospect Perry's move to send 1,000 National Guard reservists to the already tightly guarded border, they decided to ditch their plan to cross at Eagle Pass, Texas, and take an even longer route.

"A friend told me he crossed in New Mexico. Nobody goes there. It's very far, very high and you have to walk about three days through the desert," said Edwin, 36, who lived for years in Dallas and has done this all before.

That’s all it takes, sew a little doubt.

Perry says he has 100,000 illegal gang members in Texas who have committed 3,000 homicides and 8,000 rapes. Maybe they should shoot them on sight.

Sounds like our border enforcement needs to hire a few agents to pose as sympathetic reporters for the drive-by media. It sure seems easy to round up lots of illegals eager to tell their stories and brag about repeatedly flouting our immigration laws.

Shooting them on sight would be a good start. If it’s good for South & North Korea it should be good for us as well.

Enrique Peralta, a 39-year-old from Honduras, worried that if migrants could not ride The Beast, they would no longer be able to access the network of charitable hostels like Christ the King, where activists and religious workers provide them food and shelter along their journey.

Exactly. Without help, they don't succeed. Stop helping them.

Maybe they should shoot them on sight.

They'd only have to do a few before the word got out.

Well, at least apprehend them and affirm their status. They shouldn't be too hard to identify. If they kick up a fuss and resist arrest...

Maybe they should shoot them on sight.

Speaking of being shot, why are these terrorists any different from any other kind of enemy combatants?

I hate the default use of the word migrants. Migrants come to work for the season then go back home. These invaders bought one way tickets.

Perhaps if they died in the desert, their bodies would nourish the land so trees could grow - for the children.

Not to mention the girls being raped on the way north.
I guess this is acceptable “collateral damage” for the leftists to advance their agenda.

already tightly guarded border

Ha, my aunt fanny! That must be why every illegal in this article still resides south of the border, right? Oh, never mind.

"A friend told me he crossed in New Mexico. Nobody goes there. It's very far, very high and you have to walk about three days through the desert,"

Yeah, all those widdle kiddies walked all alone through all those thousands of miles without one bit of assistance and still crossed with minimal wear and tear on their "Yes We Can" Obama shoes.

For any NM residents, I called Susana Martinez’s office today and asked what, if anything, she plans to do about the border and mentioned this article. I explained that the article said now illegals are planning to cross in NM because of Perry’s plan to send the Guard to the border.

It seems she’s making up her mind whether or not to send the Guard to our border so maybe she needs some extra calls or emails?

If you call ask for Constituent Services: 505-476-2200
