I’ve run into a number of them over my life. Plus, we have more SWAT teams than ever that are used about 40,000 or more times a year for the most minor of violations of the law when they were intended to be used for only the most dangerous situations.

It's not the individuals, it's the profession. When the police see someone with facial hair or tatoos, and automatically thinks, "scumbag who needs to be questioned", we have a serious problem. And that IS the "cop mentality".
Until the 'good cops' stand up and speak out against the small percentage of 'bad cops', they are all bad.
