Civil rights leaders at the NAACP’s annual convention worry that black voters won’t show up at voting booths in November this year.

Black voting turnout hit records in presidential elections during Barack Obama’s presidency but dropped sharply in 2010. A wave of newly elected Republicans passed several laws targeting voter fraud after those elections that critics say make it harder for minorities to vote. …

No worries, I’m sure the GOPe will pay to get them to the polls. Right, Thad?

Yeah, but only against conservatives.

Fund-raising BS from black organizations. Almost every one of these laws has been struck down in the federal courts.

But not in SC. Our voter ID law went into effect on Jan 1, 2013 and has survived all challenges. Mostly because of how Governor Nikki Haley implemented the law.

The poor folks lamented they couldn't afford a picture ID. Gov. Haley made all IDs free.

The poor folks then lamented that they had no transportation to the DMV to get their free ID. Gov. Haley made government vehicles available to drive these folks to the DMV.

Those two steps pretty much ended the protests.

Here's the law in SC:

Beginning January 1, 2013 you will be asked to show ONE of the following Photo ID's at your polling place:

Source.

Article detailing Gov. Haley's efforts. Notice she "called 'em out" on transportation and they backed off. The will of the people was done.

What I don't understand why GOP governors in other states did not go the extra mile to do the exact same thing. My guess is that they are (almost) as lazy, stupid and crooked as their Democratic counterparts.

“I don’t blame blacks for staying home at all.

obams turns a blind eye and a deaf ear to the skyrocketing unemployment and violence blacks live with every day.

Many blacks, especially black Christians, are appalled at obama’s obsession with lgbt ‘rights’.

Most recently they see how well illegal children are treated vs. how their own American children are neglected.

He has failed the black community miserably.”

I hope the above is the case, but I suspect that the REAL disillusionment amongst a big part of this crowd is that they didn’t get anywhere near the amount of free stuff that they thought they had been promised.

yep,
Both groups fighting over the same low wage, unskilled, dead end jobs.
Course latinos at least are usually willing to work hard.
Whereas blacks are more like obammy,. let’s do as little as possible.

Yes, it’s identity politics pure and simple.

Which is why all this talk about impeachment needs to stop and stop now. It plays right into identity politics and lets the Dems pull out the race card to drive up turnout by people who 1) will believe it can actually happen and 2) will be incensed and incited by it.

Well let’s see. We’ve destroyed the urban black family and replaced it with a gimme culture devoid of any sense of civic duty, plus ruined the economies of every big city in America, so why would any remaining black voters be very excited about voting for more of the above?
