I guess it depends on what media people are watching..you watch CNN and they are not fans of Israel..Fox News is of course pro Israel but not everyone watches Fox News..I guess its like this, the ones who hate Jews and hate Israel are coming out of the woodwork now because they think its “Cool” to hate Jews, gives them media attention..the UN Secretary General was shown today the rockets that have been fired into Israel..maybe now he will finally get it

Sadly, Israel will always lose the propaganda war. The world is evil, and against the G-d of Israel. The biggest haters of the State of Israel are those furthest from the G-d of Avraham, Yitzhak, and Yaakov.

Yes, true.

The issue here seems to be that Hamas dropped a rocket within about 5km of DBG Airport. There’s a vested interest, by some, in perpetuating the myth that Hamas is the oppressed victim. Having Hamas, even inadvertenly, drop a rocket onto a loaded airliner would be a PR disaster that would immediately award the moral upper hand to the Israelis.

You said ... “... drop a rocket onto a loaded airliner would be a PR disaster that would immediately award the moral upper hand to the Israelis.”

AND ... if that does happen, don’t anyone say that the Israelis were wishing for it to happen or that they helped Hamas do it, so the Israelis could gain the upper hand.

That statement is the STUFF that “conspiracy theories” are made of!

If you want to check your common sense and experience at the door and do nothing more than share news stories, that is your business.

I understand Free Republic as a site where people talk about the news and share their insights. We are conservatives, and many of us long ago have learned not to take statements by the Obama administration at face value.

It is obvious that the FAA will not lift its order in 24 hours. We will see if I am wrong.

Hamas is losing the battle diplomatically in the world’s capitals, even though they might gain an advantage, here and there, on the ground.

It’s not “obvious” that the FAA will “not” lift this order. The reason why is that this is a fluid situation. One cannot predict it, and can only go by what was EXPLICITLY SAID.

Now, one can reasonably say that if the circumstance that caused this in the first place - CONTINUES - then the order will continue. And conversely, of the situation does not continue or repeat, the order will be lifted.

That’s what is called a fluid situation, and as it stands right now, the order is for 24 hours!

I’ll be one of the first to update Free Republic if that time frame is EXPLICITLY changed!

I’d like to think it was the end of the road for Hamas,ya ever know, I’m sure Fatah agrees.

But like a hydra, there’s always a new pimple to take their place.

I sense something big is going to happen in that Israel will go all out to clean out the rats nest. Just saying.

If EL AL gets more business, then it means beyond 24 hours.

Could very well be ... IF ... the airport remains closed. I would say that the airport is the key there ... namely if Hamas repeatedly attacks it. That is the one thing that would be intolerable.

Well, I certainly wouldn’t want to be flying into Tel Aviv right now - apparently one of the rockets pierced the “Iron Dome,” and Hamas has been boasting about how they want to take down a passenger plane. Pilots are refusing to fly the route and passengers are cancelling. This is only common sense, and Hamas would be even happier if the planes kept on flying and they actually did manage to get one.

The thing that nobody is noticing is how much more successful Hamas is in general this time around. They have killed a large number (relatively speaking) of Israeli soldiers and do seem to have gotten at least one rocket through the Iron Dome.

It probably had a thank you note to Obama attached to it, since it was the clandestine arming of the Syrian “rebels,” the precursors of ISIS, that got these higher quality arms into the hands of Hamas and a host of other seriously bad guys. He always supports the most militant Islamists.

For sure El Al is getting more business. It is one of the only airlines that continues to serve Israel from the US and Europe and they have announced that they will not cancel flights.

Well, the EU, of all organizations came out and told Hamas to stand down and disarm.

What is “the circumstance that caused this in the first place” If it is not politics, then it is the missile that fell on the city of Yehud.

The only circumstance that would cause that circumstance would be for Israel to eliminate Hamas’s missile-firing capacity.

Nobody in Israel is speculating that this capacity will be eliminated within 24 hours.

The only thing that could happen within 24 hours — but will not — would be if Israel were pressured into a cease fire with Hamas.

There is no credible way that the FAA will lift this BDS squeeze on Israel.

As noted below, this is good to El Al Israel Airlines, but that is about the only positive that I see coming out of this craven action by the FAA.
