Impy’s OK, he’s a good guy. There’s a group of us that follow elections nationwide.

Yes since the bar for Perdue is so low hopefully he will exceed it. You can see by looking at the county by county voting that it was strictly throw the incumbents out last night. Now we get to see what Perdue will do differently if he gets by Michelle Nunn which by all rights should not be hard. She has all the warmth and personality of a marshmellow and zero agenda.

Mr. GG2 and I will vote for Perdue in Nov because we cannot allow the Demos to get a foothold of power here. With all the dang Yankees moving here and voting to turn our state into the same chithole they came from up North its going to be hard.

Well he’s not a good guy if you are from the South and you have to listen to his venom spewed on confederate threads. So its all relevant. I have no idea why the guy is even interested in the South since he has such hatred for our history and culture. I just have to point it out. I have said all I’m going to say about it on this thread but he knows who he is.

So I guess we are all voting for Perdue in November. :-)

I’m just hoping for a miracle here in TN to toss the execrable Lamar!, but with open primaries and no runoffs, it will be exceptionally difficult for Joe Carr. I won’t be voting for Lamar! under any circumstances. I did in 2002 and that was the last time. He has no business running for a 3rd term, especially after his own personal mantra from his book was explicit... “Two terms and OUT !” Nothing but a liar he is.

If you want to actually defend Hice’s remark on it’s merits, (or WHATEVER it is I’ve said that you disagree with so strongly) feel free.

And once again, I mistook district nine for ten and quickly caught the mistake,

not sure why you’re harping on that. I am familiar with the partisan balance of all congressional districts, and you can be as well, it’s public information, not a secret that they only tell to Georgians. I can also read about things people from Georgia say through the magic of the printed word.

Well, I’ve known Impy since he effectively started posting here a decade ago. He & I are part of a group on FR that follow/report/comment on elections from coast to coast.

I’m not sure what you’re referring to with respect to “Confederate threads” or his participation in them. I know there’s occasionally some discussions, usually if about a book or some such, though I’m not sure beyond that what kind of purpose they particularly serve.

I know there’s a contingent of neo-Confederates at FR, but what agenda they’re attempting to pursue is unclear. My personal opinion where the Civil War is concerned is that there’s a ton of hypocrisy to go around on both sides. The Northern side did not corner the market on virtue while the South did not corner the market on vice.

It is very hard to unseat incumbents. Just as its hard to get the really good people elected. If they don’t have the money then they are handicapped. What you most often end up with is the mediocre person in a postion of great power and responsibility.

Sadly, all true, especially under the current system. One thing is clear, however, we need to completely change the process by which a candidate is nominated. It’s frequently poisoned by chicanery from the opposition, and that must end.

I have realized also that most people are not conservative like you and me. Most people are middle of the road. That is how these RINO’s get elected and remain in office. A sad fact of life.

Well, most people don’t live, eat, breathe and sleep politics to spend intense attention. They may only rely on a few sources and commercials that are less than honest about the “product.”

I also believe not everyone should even participate in the political process unless they are informed. I don’t know squat about sports, for example, and how right would it be for me to participate in something involving a serious sports decision ? If you can’t answer some basic questions about an election, candidates, even some political history, you have no business casting a vote. Way too many uninformed people.

When I first saw Barr, I guess as a teenager during the impeachment, I thought he was a light-skinned Black man, I was surprised he wasn’t.

Same thing with actress Alex Kingston, I remember her from “ER”, I was certain she was mixed race (her character was dating a Black character, that may have colored my judgment), but’s she not.
