To me, this would actually prove a rather insightful investigation/research. Just how would the political and societal landscape look if abortion were outlawed in all 50 states. I’m weird like that, I guess, when it comes to looking at it from all angles, but I would certainly be interested in all the facts and statistics - spending, population, etc. - that would be impacted were abortion made illegal across the US.

Not entirely. If the laws will do some good, and are enforceable, and don't just brush the issue under the carpet by creating a black market which is largely unseen by us law abiding citizens, then heck yes, by all means, pass the law. But, if it just makes us feel good, and doesn't actually make a difference, then what good is it?

Do laws against rape and murder make a difference?

Would there continue to be abortions if it was outlawed? Almost certainly, but that's not a reason to keep it legal.

The government that governs least, governs best, right?

Why are you so opposed to laws that protect individual rights?

This is akin to the approach the Whigs used to be "personally opposed, but..." to slavery.

What difference does it make how it will look?

Nearly 4000 innocent Americans die each day in abortuaries. Abortion kills more Americans than cancer, heart disease, pulmonary disease and strokes COMBINED!

It is a morally indefensible institution and it should matter what "political and societal landscape looks" like any more than it mattered what the "political and societal landscape looked" like after the abolition of slavery.

I didn't say that.

Why are you so opposed to laws that protect individual rights?

I didn't say I was.

Do laws against rape and murder make a difference?

To the person intent on committing murder or rape, no they don't make one bit of difference. They do, however, give us the tools to go after and punish the criminals, and anti-abortion laws would pretty much be as effective as laws against murder and rape. That's just common sense. It's not libertarian. It's not Republican. It's not democrat. Abortions would still occur, only in a black market sort of way, which opens the doors to a whole lot other issues.

The bottom line is, we as Americans, living in a country built on faith and biblical principles, would not have this problem, or a drug problem, or a crime problem, or a homosexual problem, if we simply turned back to God.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Basically, my belief is we’re turning to man for the answers to societal ills and crime and the heinous murder of children and degredation, rather than God. That is a huge mistake, IMHO.

So, do you think we should have laws prohibiting abortion? YES or NO

Can you imagine the reaction if anything/anyone else was killing off 4,000 people a day?

We've gone to war over far less, many times.

Where has he even been a city councilman, mayor or county supervisor? You don’t throw someone with absolutely no government experience into the top spot, I don’t care how smart, charismatic or wonderful they might be. Presidents are governors, senators, generals or at least congressmen or cabinet secretaries. We have never placed a complete neophyte in there and when we come close to it (Barack Obama) disaster strikes. For instance, Ted Cruz, although a freshman senator, was the longest serving solicitor general of Texas in history and has forgotten more about constitutional law than Mr. Obama ever knew. Sarah Palin was on the city council, then mayor (and was president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors), state energy chairwoman, then governor.

You keep asking me questions, I keep answering them. I keep asking you questions, you keep insulting me and my beliefs. Bottom line? Yes, I support laws against abortion. Did that rip a hole in the space-time continuum and make Roe v Wade go away? Did it lessen the punishment God will mete out in the End? Will you even believe that, simply because I have a (l) next to my name? Honestly, now can we get to the real heart of the matter, which has nothing to do with laws that mere mortal men enact?

Earlier you said that laws prohibiting abortion "usurp" God. Why the change?
