Paul’s support of the legalization of pot was a big factor in his popularity with college students.

And that kind of dismissal of legitimate libertarian impulses is a big factor in the Republican Party's unpopularity with college students.

I’m not dismissing any legitimate libertarian impluse. I really am stating a fact. Back in ‘08 and ‘12, I queried a number of college-age Paultards when they showed up at our precinct caucuses as to what they were interested in.

Although I did not conduct a formal statistical anlysis of the responses, at least half of them mentioned the legalization of pot.

While wanting to legal pot may be a legitimate libertarian impulse, I would have liked to have these guys show more interest in the economic issues.
