Thank you..very good post... you’ve really made the right point regarding Putin and the majority of the Russian people.

Too many people fail to distinguish what’s apparent because they cannot let loose of the cold war mentality....even Putin knows he has to balance between the old Russia population and the new. And he intends to bring them all along with him. So far he’s accomplishing just that.

The Russian people want a leader they can be proud of...he’s given that to them and they are quite willing to overlook any flaws along the way as he’s clearly brought them out of the depths of despair they were in.

Thank you again for your post....it’s refreshing given too many here are carrying the Obama agenda regarding Russia...and in lockstep with the MSM he’s using to take Russia out of it’s relationship with the European community.

Thanks for the good words, but it’s easy for me to see through the baloney.

The old creeping Communism threat is far too worn out for it to work very well with me. I know too much history and I’m too old to fall for it anymore.

Most people are unaware that without the US assistance during WWII as a result of a unceasing desire to assist the Chinese in fighting of Japan, the Chinese communist followers of Mao may not have achieved the credibility necessary to have fought off, killed and exiled the nationalists. He was only a low class communist with a following of farmers before the US diverted aid meant for Chang Kai Chek to Mao and made him a force to be reckoned with. Chang’s organization was pretty corrupt, but there were other ways to fix it.

We did the same with the Communists in France, and other Western and Eastern Europe Countries and peoples. Both Truman and Roosevelt. In the end it strengthened their credibility and made it possible for them to grow like a weed. As did the Communist Serbs after the breakup of Yugoslavia.

We did not turn against them until after the war and Eisenhower was elected. In the case of the Serbs, we obviously abandoned them as well.

You just can’t make this stuff up. If it was not history, I would not have believed it, but it’s true.

Internationally we have always had relationships with communists and do today with China and Vietnam, as examples. So I don’t really consider Communism in other countries to rise to the level of importance as I do when they are screwing about in my own country as they have for decades now.

However I refuse to project a domestic problem on a foreign country and make it the basis of what is a tactical argument or analysis as in the case of Russia.

I view old foreign interventionist arguments to “act or allow the spread of communism” as propaganda. But to fight it here is another matter entirely.

So it’s not about communism, regarding Russia. It’s about trying to use our strengths to counter a growing threat that will certainly affect the rest of Eastern Europe and eventually spill over into Western Europe when Putin tries a do-over in Poland and Germany and attempts to regain what Russia views as their rightful territorial gains after WWII.

I would like to see us get it right for once as to when it’s necessary to do some sort of intervention, small or large scale. or just a proxy fight as the case or cases merits.
