I’m glad you said this. I thought of posting something similar. The same thing happened with Spencer when he ran for Senate in NY—the men said too bad he’s not better-looking and the women looked at them like they were crazy.

Did you read her list of 11 Progressive goals?

She sounds just like that guy who founded ACORN and headed the SEIU. I can’t remember his name, I think he might have even been former Weather Underground.

She is pushing the $15 minimum wage and higher pay for food workers, everything that the SEIU is doing for illegals. The reason they want the illegals to join the SEIU is that they get Obamacare coverage with it. It’s a twofer for the left.

Ted Cruz, also, does not have clean hands on immigration.

True, however, he is the best of the lot so far, and he has not advocated for citizenship for these Illegal Aliens, in fact, all of his proposals state that Illegals should NEVER be given citizenship.

Walker, on the other hand, wants to grant Illegals citizenship:

YouTube Link: Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, in his own words, endorses a path to citizenship for Illegal Aliens in July of last year.

And I’m sure they would try to push the Supreme Court to rule on it as soon as possible.

No need to.

Cruz was born a U.S. citizen, by virtue of his mother's U.S. citizenship.

There is no doubt or question regarding his status.

Squaw Warren reflects the gross stupidity of those who voted for her.

On my grandfather’s WWI draft card, he had 3 choices: “natural born”, “naturalized”, or “alien”.

Neither of his parents were citizens, and yet he was, without any need for naturalization because he was born in Brooklyn NY.

Do you believe the government in 1917 used a different meaning for “natural born” than what it means now?

Yes, on illegal immigration I have no problem with Cruz.

Unfortunately, it is “legal” immigration that is politically destroying the Republican Party, and Cruz is very quiet on that issue.

Each year, 1.1 million new Green Cards.

Each year, 750,000 new citizens, and 80% of them vote Democrat.

Unless we stop those huge numbers very soon, unless we have inspired leaders who sincerely want to stop those numbers, the Conservative Movement will be politically dead.

You’ve identified the demographic problem.

Every year 2.48m mostly white, majority R voting people die, and are replaced by 2.52m majority non-white, heavily D voting people.

I don’t see it changing in my lifetime.

Ted Cruz will be president if Democrats listen to Elizabeth Warren, warns Republican: A moderate Republican’s counter-intuitive take is actually just a warning to Democrats to avoid class warfare

If you don't look good on TV, you won't win Period.

Good helps, Presidential wins.

The only example of a conservative (by today’s definition) winning both primary and general, is Reagan. Reagan was very well known, ran a state, ran for Potus 3 times.

And when he won he got 50.8%. And did that, against an incredibly lousy Carter!!
RINO (the term hadn’t been invented yet, but certainly he was GOPe) John Anderson went third party in 1980. Even with a fellow-Republican running third party, Reagan still polled over 50% - and beat Carter by 10%.
Wire service journalism was as hostile to Reagan as to anyone in presidential history, including Nixon. But as you say, Carter was awful. Obama is worse, and we desperately need to nominate “a choice, not an echo” in ’16.

It is pretty hard for a party to win three elections in a row (and even harder for a sitting VP to win election to the presidency - only Washington’s, Jackson’s, and Reagan’s VPs did it). We need someone who can and will articulate the failings and dangers of this current administration. Whether wire service journalism likes it or not.

Brock O’Bama is absolutely hideous. The media says he’s handsome, but that doesn’t make it so.

Lots of people saw Reagan. He received the majority of GOP votes against Ford and attracted millions of conservative (mostly Wallace) democrats. Ford won the nomination on the strength delegates from states that rarely if ever voted for a GOP candidate.

I suspect if given a choice he’d take the court for life. It would fit his intellect.

I'd suspect you were wrong.

The Presidency suits both his intellect AND Leadership skills.

I would LOVE this match-up.

Granny is about as self-righteous as is humanly possible. I doubt that she's ever debated a substantial conservative. She doesn't debate. She hectors. Because ignorant, Bible-thumping hicks aren't worth her time.

Man, will she be in for a surprise.

Americans just can't get enough of this:

I think you're exaggerating Ted's flaws. His twang is very mild. But he has a "cool" TV personality, which is even more important than looks in the television age. He comes across as knowledgeable, reasonable, and competent. That was the secret to Obama's success. Obama appeared to have these characteristics, simply because of his manner of speaking.

I JUST DON’T GET IT.

At it's root, it's a religious/psychological disorder.

Liberals aren't looking for a president, they're looking for a messiah --someone who can establish heaven on earth.

Since progressives, in general, are irrational and led by their emotions, a track record can only serve to alienate Democrat voting blocs in the primary. So a cipher, like Obama, with a magnetic personality, good looks, or rhetorical skill, has the greatest chance of success.

Recent examples are Howard Dean and Zero.

Maybe in a drinking contest. Their respective parties won’t nominate them.
