The concussion itself will strip victims. In World War I, people were blown out of the trenches and partially stripped. Old photos show that.
The real question is whether the operators were aiming at a known civilian jet. That and why a jetliner was flying over an active war zone. The route should have been changed well before now

Maybe if the thugs in control of the crash site would allow the OSCE to do its job and gather up the dead there might be fewer pictures floating around showing the horror that Putin’s cossacks did here.

This plane may have been targeted for no other reason than that it was coming from the West -- from the direction of Kiev -- and both are linked together in Russian minds and hated.
If the plane was flying north-south they would not have touched it but west-east was fair game.
And look at the net effect of the downing of MH17 -- the once highly travelled air corridor over eastern Ukraine has been shut down causing now greater difficulty and expense for airlines travelling east-west.
This is Putin punishing the West for its sanctions against Russia.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the Donetskian knumbskull Igors pushed the red button thinking that it was a Ukrainian transport plane while the Russian technicians operating it under Putin’s orders knew very well that it was a commercial airliner.
Their excuse that they thought it was filled with Ukrainian troops is laughable because the aircraft was 25 miles from crossing the Russian border at 33K. Where in the hell did they think it was going to land to be a threat to them?

The emergency personnel there in those pictures gathering up and bagging the bodies are workers from the government of Kiev.
The thugs carrying weapons in those pictures are the looters gathering up the watches, money and credit cards from the dead.
If a body remained strapped in a seat it probably kept most of its clothes on. Remember the plane would have been doint 500+ MPH when it started coming apart. But the plane parts would have slowed to about terminal velocity, 125 MPH, well before they hit the ground. But even at 125 MPH your clothes aren’t going to stay on for long. And if a body hits the air at 500 MPH even all the skin isn’t going to stay on for long. Motorcyclists with good running bikes can confirm the above for you.
The trigger guys had to know it was a commercial airliner. The airspace above 12,000 feet where they were is a designated commercial corridor. Upwards of 55 commercial planes had flown that exact route previously that same day. If you have a world globe handy stretch a string between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur-—it lands right smack on Donetsk. If that’s not enough count the contrails yourself: the 777 makes two. The plane they first claimed they were shooting at leaves four. And their weapon tracking system would have fed them the 33,000 ft. commercial altitude of the MH17 not to mention the commercial heading of the MH17.
You can’t guess what their motivation might have been but it has to lie somewhere stone cold dumbass murdering piece of krap. But they knew.

Ukraine had designed the Donetsk/luhansk area a no fly zone below 31,000 feet since their military transport plane was shot down. Though in retrospect it seems common sense to route around it.

55 went North of Crimea west across Ukraine towards Asia.
That’s very different from flying “exactly the same route” directly over the warzone, which is quite a small portion of Ukraine and easy to go around.
