Top Christie Aide Testifies She Deleted Bridge-Related Texts (GOP's Version Of IRS Scandal)
The Wall Street Journal ^ | 7-17-2014 | Josh Dawsey

Posted on 07/18/2014 12:04:22 PM PDT by TitansAFC

A close aide to Gov. Chris Christie sent him text messages related to fallout from the lane closures at the George Washington Bridge and later deleted them, she told a legislative committee in Trenton on Thursday.

Regina Egea, then the governor's liaison to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said the messages discussed testimony...

Chris Christie is operating as the GOP's version of Lois Lerner. The idea that anyone in the GOP would simultaneously support him for president and beat their breasts about the Obama's administration's habits of doing the samg things Christie does is ridiculous.

We've seen Christie use his power to punish political enemies like Obama, and we've seen mysterious deletings of messages like Obama.

Christie Christie operates like a Republican Barack Obama. It is absurd that anyone who cares about honest government would support him as a nominee.

While I dislike Chris Christie as much as anyone, there is no comparison between a petty political move, and the politicization of the Internal Revenue Service. One is a disgraceful act, but not exactly one with far reaching consequences. The other is an act which, if true, represents a major assault on the foundation of this country as a free country, and a potential milestone in the movement towards a police state.

He may operate like Obama, at least in this incident. But Obama is trying to dismantle this country, and lead it into 3rd world oblivion. Big difference.

PUH-leeze. This is not on the same level. Lois Lerner used the power of the government to target her and Obama's enemies, regular American people, and now is involved in a coverup.

The other person held up for a few hours.

Big whoop.

It’s not. But what sets us apart from the Left is our desire for the facts even when it involves unlawful actions by individuals that parade the Republican flag.

There are a bunch of Romney and Cruz supporters out to make sure Christy does not run in 2016....unbelievable acts of insanity. Make a post so you can criticize Christy...that was last years news.

I went to the site and you can’t finish reading the article saying what she was talking about unless you buy the WSJ....nuts.

I’m with you, Big whoop.

“I would rather Harry Reid stay Majority Leader than have Thad Cochran win another term in the Senate.”

That is a post from TitansAFC, who posted this article post. He is only out to disgrace Christy....not that Christy did right in the bridge scandal, that’s not my point. My point is people who are supposed to be conservatives are acting like democrats and trying to divide the GOP. That’s ludicrous.

I read some of the posters other comments and realized this is divisive....and it’s not even 2016 yet. Keep Harry Reid, OMG how insane.

Well, they are two entirely different types of scenarios and both bad for different reasons.

Christie’s problem is his short temper, his arrogance and his contempt for other people. The Bridge incident was petty and stupid but in itself not a big deal. The fact that he was involved in such a petty ridiculous caper as well as his prior track record for hot headedness indicates he is not ready for prime time and probably never will be.

Added to all the other flaws in his political thinking, this is one of the last men you would want in the White House to rectify the mess that the current demonic, destructive public enemy in the Oval Office has created.

“I would rather Harry Reid stay Majority Leader than have Thad Cochran win another term in the Senate.”

I would too. Cochran got his position through pandering to leftist Democrats. He poisoned the nomination process in Mississippi and he did so by employing the active assistance of the national Republican Establishment - the selfsame people who have demostrated time and again that they lack the ability, foresight or desire to effectively combat the Democrats. He defrauded his party and he defrauded the Republican primary voters in that state.

At the same time that Establishment Republican Goons pull stunts like this, they destroy those candidates who are willing and capable of doing the job of serving as an effective alternative party.

If the GOP remains in the hands of these establishment quislings, the entire nation would be better off if it collapses, allowing another party, which more effectively represents the wishes of its constituents, to replace it.

I will not vote for Christie for President under any circumstances.

That said, if you're equating the closure of three out of twelve lanes on a bridge during rush hour one day to the weaponizing of the IRS as a political tool, you have serious, almost debilitating, problems with proportion.

And these emails she deleted had to do with the political fall out from the lane closures, once again doing nothing to shoot holes in Christie's contention that he had no foreknowledge of the events. He didn't order the closures and he fired those who did when he learned of them. The total opposite behavior of Obama when faced with a far far far more serious scandal.

Apparently the new “Conservative” way is to support all GOP-E candidates no matter what they do, at least according to some. Hence, Kackikat chimes in to blast someone for questioning Christie and to try and ridicule Conservatives who aren't going to line-up behind Cochran (and for that matter, McConnell) after what he did.

I mean, after all, why wouldn't a Conservative want McConnell and Cochran holding two of the most powerful positions in the Senate? Haven't they earned our support?

/S

>> My point is people who are supposed to be conservatives are acting like democrats and trying to divide the GOP.

While the trolls abound, there’s legitimate protest against the GOP Establishment that’s largely responsible for the mess we’re in.

There are two primary perspectives held by sincere Conservatives; 1) it’s better to support any candidate with an R in order to assure majority status, 2) punt the RINOs and take the hits now in order to build a more solid Republican Party that would mature later. Those that advance the 3rd, conservative party are essentially advancing the latter of the two perspectives.

I want Thad Cochran to go, but I certainly do not want ‘Alzheimer Harry’ to stay, that makes no sense at all. Cochran is knocking on death’s door by the look of him. Harry’s got a long time in the nursing home, and he’s already started with the Alzheimers ward in the Senate.

In order to get anything done for this nation we must take the Senate, period. Some of the thinking here shows a lack of understanding how things actually work IRL....no wonder the libs were able to take control of this country.

I agree there is a need for a stronger GOP...but the Bible is clear about divisive people, “it says warn a divisive man once or twice then have nothing more to do with him”...or her. Now, that’s clear.

The democrats won because they used the premise that ‘a house divided cannot stand’ and the longer they beat on the GOP the sooner it falls apart from the inside when we buy into it, and once Communism is the total stronghold along with terrorism out of control, it would take generations to recover, period. That’s clear also in all the countries that have had this happen.

I will NOT be a part of this ‘side with the democrats to ruin the GOP crowd that opposes who I like to make a better party, that is hogwash’...’Divisiveness will not work, its not Gods way!

Working together to find the best person on the issues that allows the system our forefathers created become strong and viable again is the right way. At this point we need a strong money manager, and a Constitutional Believer.

That is all we need for this next four years or we go under as a nation financially..We need jobs, and we need to rebuild our military, and the person must have the ability to stand up like President Reagan..NO MILKTOAST PEOPLE, the rest as it’s possible.

If it does NOT line up with God’s word, count me out.
