I agree with the judge’s comments but the sentence should have been much worse. This was clearly a hate crime. The man they beat was in a coma for days.
They just about killed an innocent man. They shouldn’t be allowed any freedom for several years.

Hate crime is a federal crime and has a minimum Five years in a Federal pen.
Hard to prove though. It's basically a crime devoted to only Whites
and held up only for whites which is why the narrative for the Trayvon incident
went so viral as Zimmermen was portrayed as White, and why Holder investigated it.
That punk and others deserve more than a beating IMO. Now if I happen to have and accident
and run over any Black person I'll have my gun in hand and foot on the throttle
all the way to the police station to report the accident. This is how they want it,
they got it.

I’m guessing it was part of a plea deal.
Sounds like a pretty decent judge. I like the fact that he didn’t retreat and pointed out that he himself didn’t mention race.
