Ok so Poroshenko and Putin both now saying “terrorists to blame”......as suspected they will likely continue with this explanation....true or not. Obama will as well.

Good of you to remember this incident. It occurred not too long after 911 and was thought initially to have been a terrorist act. Later Ukranian military admitted that it was in all likelihood "an accidental hit from an S-200 rocket fired during exercises".

Well, TWA800, and Flight SA 1812 were then, MH-17 is now. We'll see what evidence will eventually turn up.
