A Malaysian passenger airliner with 295 people on board crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border, Interfax cited an aviation industry source as saying on Thursday.

Too late. I’ve been following this all day. First it was reported to be another AN-26 down and the Russians took credit. Now that it’s an airliner they deny it.
Nothing the Russkies or Ukies don’t have in abundance. 40 years ago Russian SAMs were taking BUFFs down in numbers during Nixon’s bombing campaign that brought Hanoi back to the table. I’d think even the Russians have improved the product in 40 years.
NATO should have a complete radar record of any missiles fired.

The Russians shot down another Ukrainian plane from 20,000 feet a few days ago. Our local Putinists were happy to report then that the rebels had a BUK system capable of doing it. Now that it’s an airliner, the story will change.

That’s what I understand. They already know where the projectile came from, it’s now just finding a video to blame it on so Obama can still claim tranquility..
Europe has been on alert for improvised bombs in laptops and other electronic devices. I think it would be premature to rule out a bomb.
CNN ‘expert’ says that Separatists in Ukraine have been acquiring more sophistocated missiles and weaponry.
