Texas Sen. Ted Cruz plans to take a hard-line stand that could rile up conservatives just as lawmakers including two from his home state are struggling to address the growing humanitarian crisis along the southern border.
The conservative firebrand believes that any bill to deal with the unaccompanied migrant children at the border must also include language to stop a 2012 immigration directive from President Barack Obama a proposal unlikely to go anywhere in the Democratic-controlled Senate.
Thats a much tougher approach than the one being sought by Cruzs fellow Texans GOP Sen. John Cornyn and Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar who would leave the directive alone. Instead, they would toughen a 2008 human trafficking law while speeding up immigration proceedings and authorizing 40 more judges to handle the cases. The Obama administration has expressed openness to revisiting the 2008 law, and the Texans plan could be included in a spending measure that will soon be considered by the GOP-controlled House.
The move is vintage Cruz: stake out a staunchly conservative position on the biggest debates in Congress, whether its pushing to defund Obamacare at the expense of a government shutdown or now trying to end a controversial Obama policy aimed at deferring deportation proceedings for certain undocumented immigrants who came to the United States as children.

They like to look like they do though.
EISENHOWER SECURED THE BORDER 60 YEARS AGO - WHY CAN'T WE DO THIS TODAY?
Cornyn will be happy to get Obama’s $4 billion appropriation through with his meaningless fig leaf bill.
Sen. Cruz will highlight the blame that should be heaped upon The Worst President for inviting all of Central America to invade with his DACA directive. The dead bodies of those that didn’t make it to Texas are Obama’s fault.
The key word is "spending" if Dem Lite Cornyn has anything to do with it!
BTW--How do they "process" the UNdocumented? Do they take the word of illegals? I'm sure they all have a birth certificate...or will have soon...Barrack knows where to get birth certificates.
I surely hope that “conservatives” such as McConnell and Cornyn will not be upset about this!
Only an unprincipled nut could praise the voter outreach of the Cochran campaign, as Rand did.
AH... good guy bad guy........
IS Cruz the good guy?...
Good for Cruz. Someone has to lead.
Cruz is a leader and he knows it. He also knows he riles the elites as well as the DEMS - and doesn’t care. He stands on principles and is fearless. I really believe he is running for president - he just hasn’t officially announced it yet.
