Just how good was Ventura? I suspect he wasnt but he must have had something to go through the physical and mental trials he did as a Navy Seal.
And sometime after that, the wheels came off.

That is probably what happened. I saw recently where a former Seal became a transvestite or something like that. How in the world could that happen?
I remember the German general Heinrici thought it took at least a year of combat to produce a useful soldier. How would a thousand battle scarred veterans do against a thousand Rangers who had never been in battle?
