I wouldn’t expect Moonbeam to appeal.

Both Gov. Jerry Brown and AG Kamala Harris are against death penalty...

I guess they could both refuse to defend CA's death penalty law in front of US Supreme Court...I think they are the only ones with "standing"...

Royal Oakes often gives commentary on legal cases...I heard him on the radio. He said that other judges are not obligated to follow this particular judge's ruling...This judge's ruling only applies to this one defendant...

I think that this particular judge, appointed by G.W.Bush, is an idiot...The executions are not carried out because of stupid judges...This judge is not Scalia or Thomas...

Kamala Harris's office routinely and actively defends death sentences in the courts. (In California, the locally-elected DAs seek the death sentence in the trial court but the State AG defends appeals from those sentences.) She may say she is "personally opposed" to the death penalty, but she does want to get re-elected. So I expect this will be appealed.

That's correct. This was not an appellate court, so the decision is not binding precedent in any other case.
