I can attest to the fact that a dollar doesn’t go as far as it used to, but $877 Billion was already ear marked for those shovel ready jobs to fix our infrastructure. I suggest the feds use that money before they ask for more. Oh it’s all gone they’ll say. Then congress needs to demand to be shown where the hell it all went or not another dime.

I am sure Congress knows where it went. When the Pubbies are in charge, it goes to their cronies, via contracts, etc. When the Donkeys are in charge, it goes to their cronies, via contracts, etc.

A few weeks ago some Congresscritters were suggesting an increase in the Federal gas tax to pay for repairing the national highway system.

Two decades ago I heard one Congresscritter respond to fraud and abuse in Social Security and Medicare by saying it would cause too much to investigate the fraud and abuse.
