NBC News ^ | July 15, 2014

Pope Francis says migrants around the world are subjected to “racist and xenophobic attitudes” and he wants the tens of thousands of Central American children crossing the border into the United States to be “welcomed and protected.”

... He said that not only must the children be welcomed but the world must also promote development in their home countries.

Those so recently accused of Catholic bashing were done so with plenty of evidence. They do not comment on hardly any other threads.

Not counting this reply to your attack 5/7 of my last posts were on issues other than religion.

What Roman Catholic church do you attend?

Maybe they should first be welcomed and protected in their own dysfunctional, corrupt, elitist, socialist countries.

The current Pope resembles that remark.

Brother Frank needs to seek the creator of the universe.

He needs to reject the "Prince of this World"

I was waiting for him to pop off. Why not send priests and nuns to those countries. Why not help ALL the people in those countries. They need teaching.

If course the church will teach "communism" because that's how the church operates.

As I ‘ve said many times this Pope is to the Catholic church what Obama is to the US - a wrecking ball!

He can welcome them at the Vatican.

Charity begins as home, not delegated out to others.

“...I would also like to draw attention to the tens of thousands of children who migrate alone, unaccompanied, to escape poverty and violence: This is a category of migrants from Central America and Mexico itself who cross the border with the United States under extreme conditions and in pursuit of a hope that in most cases turns out to be vain. They are increasing day by day. This humanitarian emergency requires, as a first urgent measure, these children be welcomed and protected. These measures, however, will not be sufficient, unless they are accompanied by policies that inform people about the dangers of such a journey and, above all, that promote development in their countries of origin. Finally, this challenge demands the attention of the entire international community so that new forms of legal and secure migration may be adopted.

I wish every success to the laudable initiative of the Mexican government’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in arranging a colloquium of study and reflection on the great challenge of migration and cordially impart my Apostolic Blessing to all those present.

In the name of compassion and caring, we need to fund the transfer of 50,000 of these poor, helpless children to the Vatican.

39. The Church recognizes the right of a sovereign state to control its borders in furtherance of the common good. It also recognizes the right of human persons to migrate so that they can realize their God-given rights. These teachings complement each other. While the sovereign state may impose reasonable limits on immigration, the common good is not served when the basic human rights of the individual are violated. In the current condition of the world, in which global poverty and persecution are rampant, the presumption is that persons must migrate in order to support and protect themselves and that nations who are able to receive them should do so whenever possible. It is through this lens that we assess the current migration reality between the United States and Mexico.”

Strangers No Longer Together on the Journey of Hope

Issued by USCCB, January 22, 2003

http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/human-life-and-dignity/immigration/strangers-no-longer-together-on-the-journey-of-hope.cfm

“US authorities have detained some 57,000 unaccompanied minors since October, twice the number from the same period a year ago. Mexican authorities have picked up 8,000 child migrants in the first five months of the year, and more than half of them were traveling by themselves.

Addressing the Colloquium, Cardinal Parolin stated: “Whether they are traveling because of poverty, or violence, or with the hope of reuniting with relatives on the other side of the border, it is urgent to protect them and help them because their vulnerability is greater and they are defenseless against any abuse or misfortune”.

Nice job Your Eminence. How many billion dollars will the Catholic Church donate to feed, house, clothe, educate, and provide health services for these poor, poor illegal alien invaders? What are you going to do about the diseases they bring? Nothing; exactly nothing, but you are going to tell American Catholics it’s their duty to support this vermin at THEIR expense!

This is one of the best reasons for separation of church and state. If the country were run by churchmen like this, with their fatally unhealthy imbalance of heart and mind, it’d collapse in a week.
