It does take a leader...If Perry is too damn weak to act, why again do you need his permission to man up???

If those in the Federal government is not upholding the US Constitution (defending us from invasion), then the next in line to "man up" are the States.

Governors have the responsibility to also uphold the US Constitution.

All border governors have the inherent right to call upon their citizens to defend the border of the US (if the Feds wont do it).

The thread was about Perry so he was used as an example.

A governor can give "Constitutional legitimacy" for calling up regular citizens to form militias and take the necessary steps to seal the border from this illegal invasion.

If all governors fail to also uphold the Constitution, then it falls ultimately to We the People.

If somehow someone could figure a way to organize and cause millions of citizens to descend upon the border in a organized way, then the People can seal the border.

The last step also needs a leader, someone to inspire the citizens to act.

I am ready to join millions of other citizens to help defend our border -- the question is how to get the people to act. I don't have that answer.

You say you are “ready”...Ok...

Will we see you “actually” on the border???

How long do you plan to stay???

What are YOU prepared to do??? What are YOU prepared to sacrifice to achieve your goal(s)???

Again, what or who is going to spur you to actually pack up and head to the border???

“If somehow someone could figure a way to organize and cause millions of citizens to descend upon the border in a organized way, then the People can seal the border.” (Your words)

I think you set the bar too high??? And you say here you are waiting for someone to give you the word to “go”...

And somehow if that doesn’t happen you are not going to mobilize...

I think you are overlooking one BIG factor in the idea the Governor Perry and any other border state governor has the ability to mobilize the “Guard” and direct them to some crisis...Sure, we do not need to see the exact statutes of authority on those state Constitutions that give them this authority...

What you are overlooking is the sustainability of that effort...AND, the fiduciary necessities involved with mobilizing troops by those provisions in state law...

This is not a call them up and man up on the border, easy breezy, and the problem is solved...

The governors can very well call the guard up, and give them work to do...But the Feds control the money and other logistical support needed to sustain that effort...

That’s the big hill that needs to be humped in all of this...

So, if you are ready, to man up and mobilize yourself...I say “Good Luck”!!! Honestly...You might not be alone in that effort...

Lets say Perry or another border state governor gives the green light to go...And you head out...

What is it you think you will/might do if you spot suspected illegals crossing over in your area???

What if your encounter with such people ends up with them ignoring you, and your instructions, whatever that may be, what will you do at that point???

Remember, this is a public forum, with rules, and decorum that is not set by us, but the owner of this website...And there are certainly people (accounts) setup on this website that give interested parties (agencies) the ability to monitor and gather info and identities for possible “visitation”...I’m just giving you something to think about before you type it up and hit post...
