In my view it's ridiculous they're letting him off base even under supervision unless he's accompanied by armed MP's or CID agents until the investigation is completed.
I can't think of any reason for releasing this information other than 0bama's political agenda because of the backlash from his celebration with the parents after trying to make Bowe a hero. The soldiers he was with put the brakes to the hero thing by coming forward and saying in their opinion he deserted.
This investigation is starting to shape up as a whitewash in my view, I hope I'm wrong.
A solid First Sergeant, after stripping Bergdahl of all on base and off base privileges, will permanently assign him to latrine custodial duty with nothing but a toothbrush to keep the place clean; while awaiting the Article 85 charges.
