A "bad choice" is deciding that your car can make it to where you're going without getting gas and then running out of gas.
A deadly, stupid choice is trying to leap off a hundred foot cliff and see if you'll live....or trying to rob a store at gunpoint when there's a good chance the owner is armed.
The stupid things that I did as a teenager would fill several volumes of an encyclopedic set. Toss my friends in the mix, and we'd fill up the entire set, with plenty of material left over.
Armed robbery never crossed our minds.
I'm not sure who's more pathetic - the "teen" in question, or his group of enablers.
