Russia warns Ukraine of ‘irreversible consequences’ after cross-border shelling

MOSCOW— Russia is warning Ukraine of “irreversible consequences” after cross-border shelling from the battle-worn east struck Russian territory Sunday, reportedly killing one Russian citizen and injuring two others.

“This incident highlights the extremely dangerous escalation of tensions in the Russian-Ukrainian border and may have irreversible consequences, the responsibility for which lies on the Ukrainian side,” Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement Sunday, calling the incident an “aggressive action.”

Russian officials summoned the Ukrainian charge d’affaires to the foreign ministry in Moscow to protest the civilian’s death, which they say occurred when the Ukrainian army in the Luhansk region shelled Russia’s Rostov region across the border, hitting a residential building.

Ukrainian officials vehemently deny that they have fired on Russian territory and are questioning whether Russia is making up details surrounding the incident simply to build a case against Ukraine’s military.

Do you ever discuss issues or just resort to name calling?

I'll answer your question with another question: So how long until you post a link to another anti-semetic article?

I do it because the Putinist/Paulbots make it that easy.

Again, you try to COMPLETELY ignore everything that happened leading up to, during, and immediately after the coup.

An honest person can’t do that. Are you an honest person?

Your only goal is to pimp a certain propaganda line, not learn what is really going on.

Not true. I constantly inform you of the torture, beatings, kidnapping, and then the mass murder, that led up to your undefined "coup."

Your only goal is to pimp a certain propaganda line, not learn what is really going on.

You are projecting, and the mods seriously need to analyze your posting history and zot you for it.

If Putin was so mad that Khruschchev gave Crimea to Ukraine, then why did Putin loyally serve Khrushchev as a member of the KGB?

The only thing Putin is mad about is the collapse of his beloved EVIL EMPIRE.

More video from Lugansk, of the fighting tonight.
Area on the left of the camera is likely Lugansk Airport.
Area on the right the main road from the south, into Lugansk.

Video looks to have been taken from the high-ground near Fabrychne.

The whole line about Crimea once being a part of Russia, and therefore should be back under the Russian grip is stupid for a few reasons:

1) Crimea has been part of Ukraine for decades now, and just being formally a part of another country once doesn't mean it's okay to invade. This would justify any violence over perceived land ownership at any time.

3) The Russians ethnically cleansed German farmers and other ethnicities in Ukraine, including in Crimea. They also killed between 2 to 7 million Ukrainians in the Holodomor. If the land belongs so much to the Kremlin, why the mass murder throughout Soviet history?

4) Crimea is geographically a part of Ukraine. Russia doesn't even have a land connection to the territory. This is like some other country laying claim to Florida as a natural part of their nation.

5) Russia has no free and fair elections, and has slowly been centralizing power under Putin for years now. Not even governors are democratically elected, but are appointed from on high.

6) On top of having no free and fair elections, Russia is a country where innocent people are routinely murdered, or beaten, or persecuted for not supporting the regime.

7) Russia is anti-American, anti-NATO, no matter who we have in charge, and are the allies of Islamic states like Iran, and criminal regimes like Syria, Venezuela, and communist Cuba.

What 5 through 7 mean is that the poster, apparently, thinks it's a positive thing that the Crimeans are enslaved to a country that is a mortal enemy of our nation.

I don’t mind the Putinists as much as I mind the Paulbots. The latter suffer from some pathology, the former embrace their preference.

Justify it any way you want to, but Crimea was just too strategicly important to Russia, to be allowed to fall under western control.

The FSB isn’t stupid, and they knew exactly what was happening inside Ukraine, and exactly who was behind it.

That they acted when the government fell is only a surprise to EuroMaidan activists and Obama supporters.

Tweet from a Donetsk rebel account:

FLASH - Per my info, in Donetsk, the clean-up of the airport is nearing completion. At least 300 NazGuard surrendered. More later.

I haven’t even been following events in Donetsk today, with everything going on in Lugansk. I’ll look for confirmation.

NOTE: If both airports have fallen, this is a huge development.

I like how the Putinist/Paulbots imagine that a country that actively murders innocent people and includes real honest to goodness Nazis and "ultranationalist" communists who want to reestablish the USSR, and this publicly, is somehow actually responding to some other country's eeeevil and, most importantly, secret conspiracy that involves putting anti-EU Nazis (Yarosh) supposedly in control of a country they want to bring into the EU at any cost.

Even your own fantasy of Nazis running things contradicts the rest of the fantasy, and then you still have the nerve to spam me and say that I am friends with Nazis like Yarosh, without realizing how stupid everything you say is.

Crimea was sovereign territory of Ukraine, your Russian bullshite is nonsense. Ukraine was invaded by Russia and Crimea was taken by force. The so called referendum was held by an invasion force....little green men too cowardly to wear military indents or show their faces without masks.
