Trump on flag standoff at his Calif. golf course: "I will fight for the American flag"

RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. -- Business magnate Donald Trump is fighting -- not over an investment -- but to keep the Stars and Stripes flying from a 70-foot flagpole at his Southland Trump National Golf Course.

CBS Los Angeles reports that the American flag has been the focus of a standoff between Trump and state officials, who say the business investor has not taken the proper legal steps to keep the flag flying.

The California Coastal Commission claims that Trump has not filed the necessary coastal permits to fly the flag in its current location. The commission also says he has not paid a required $10,000 fee.

“- even to someone to someone like yourself”?

You don’t know any more about me than you do
about California. What you reveal about yourself
is that you play the childish “me too” game,
hoping to gain points with other ignorant haters.

Congratulations! That's about the most nonsensical thing I've seen posted all year.

Name-calling and accusations not based in fact are the hallmarks of people like yourself who cannot control their emotions; to those who have no argument. The fact is it's a monumental outrage to make an issue of flying the American flag, especially on private property. Because this flag issues ‘pop up’ all around the country does not exonerate them in the least.

Apparently I struck a nerve with you (that usually happens with touchy-feely liberals), but if you want to give them a pass to satisfy some need you have to feel good about the Golden State, then have at it.

May your chains rest lightly upon you.

You make a fool out of yourself by posting as if US flag flying
disputes are unique to California. Well, that issue has come up
in Florida, other states, and many residential areas where fools
similar to you press the homeowners association CC&Rs on some
patriot. Because this time it happened in California you took it
upon yourself to make a stupid connection. I called you on your
dumb post and you are having a little problem dealing with the
truth.

You want to slam California politicians and political leadership then
be my guest. They deserve it. But if you are going to be lax with your
blanket pot shots at CA then be prepared to hear from one of
well over 3000 California FReepers.
