It’s absolutely none of Chase’s business of course but apparently the survey said one could “check all boxes that apply”.

Leaving a box blank, it can be reasonably argued in my opinion, is not the same thing as saying “no, I’m not an ally of LGBT’s”. It could just mean you don’t care about the issue, one way or the other.

Again, this is still outrageous though. I’ll be more than happy now to be closing my HSA at JP Morgan Chase at the end of this year. Yet another reason in a long list now why I hate that company.

That puts you on a 'watch' list.

What do you think, perhaps 5% of respondents will, out of fear, leave the box unchecked.

Now that creates a small, selective and likely very accurate 'watch' list for future harassment. For starters, the LGBTers in personnel will do a colonic investigation of your CV, social media activity, etc.
