Alarmingly, this opens the playing field for having sex with underage kids.

Think daughter or son...

The notion that incest must be avoided seems to be universal in human societies--it is not just a Jewish and Christian tradition. Think of the story of Oedipus in ancient Greek myth--something clearly seen as horrifying by the "pagan" Greeks (Oedipus did the two worst things imaginable--he unknowingly killed his own father and married his own mother).

There are some variations in exactly which relationships are prohibited--some societies have permitted half-siblings to marry, and the ancient Egyptians allowed brother-sister marriages, but those seem to be rarities.

The ancient Greeks practiced pederasty (at least many of them did) but most men went on to have a heterosexual marriage--a man with exclusively homosexual inclinations was probably regarded as an oddity. A number of societies have allowed men to have multiple wives at the same time. The aversion to incest is much stronger, it would seem, than any negative attitudes towards homosexual actions or to polygamy.

And the exact same thing will be legal in the United States within the next two years. Then marrying your dogs, your cats, your chickens. If marriage is not a man and woman, it’s nothing. It has no meaning. We have the US Supreme Court to thank for this immoral BS, specifically the worthless closet liberal Anthony Kennedy.

"incest was now only a crime because it may lead to abnormalities in offspring "

Is Garry Neilson a product of incest?

Ask Alexei Nikolaevich, Tsarevich of Russia what type of genetic penalty is exacted.

I assume that you are talking about hemophilia.

While hemophilia was a major issue for European royal families in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it was not a result of incest. Though you are correct that hemophilia played a major role in the downfall of the Romanov dynasty.

While hemophilia is genetic, roughly a third of the cases arise from a spontaneous mutation de novo and this is what almost certainly occurred in Queen Victoria.

Victoria would then pass the gene onto one of her sons and two of her daughters. It is from them that the gene was passed to other royal houses.
