At first I thought this was a glow-bull warming thing when the word "gored" was used. Then it turns out that it ain't BS. I'm sorry, what was that old adage? Sometimes when you mess with the bull, you get the horn. Wow. How macho. Say, isn't this the place where the hiss-panic "race" originated from?

I always root for the bulls. It’s like the thinning the herd of stupid people on this planet.

wasn’t “watch for stragglers” part of his survival guide?
I bet it is now.

First thing I thought when I read this, without knowing who this was, is that it's likely some self-hating American idiot hipster neck-beard that wanted to get some sophistication by going to Europe and doing something stupid.
And sure enough...

Ever since I read Hemingway’s account of this, I’ve been rooting for the bulls.

My brother-in-law ran with the bulls.
Only an idiot would do that.

From Chicago? I wonder how he feels about gun control now? I’m real careful around bulls, especially those that weigh almost a tonne.

"The (same) bulls will face matadors and death in the afternoon"
In the afternoon in the arena, the bulls will get painful, pointed picks thrust into their bodies by picadors and later, they face mutilation or severence of their spinal cords by the matadors.
The tortured bulls will get a chance at retaliation if they gore the matadors to a bloody death or permanent injury.
What kind of a sick society condones, supports and applauds such a death-aura blanketing its country...emanating from a "sport" of titillation, doom, death, blood-lust and death-wishes, a "sport" which openly stimulates lusting and slavering for the injury, torture and death of humans and animals alike?
