German politicians reacted angrily on Wednesday to news of a suspected U.S. spy in the defence ministry, which came days after the arrest of a German foreign intelligence agency worker as a double agent.
After the federal prosecutors said authorities had conducted searches in connection with a second spying case, Chancellor Angela Merkel's coalition partners said Washington should remove any U.S. embassy staff involved and cease spying on its ally.
Security sources told Reuters the latest suspect was from the military and worked in the defence ministry in Berlin, but no arrest appeared to have been made. The ministry confirmed its premises had been searched but gave no further details.
"It is not yet clear what is behind this," Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen told the Berliner Zeitung newspaper, in an excerpt of Thursday's edition.

Sunshine is a good thing.
That brings it a little closer to home.
Probably because the information U.S. spies get is aiding the muslim terrorists!
Next years model of the BMW of course!
Well they did discover how to harness zero-point energy...
Embrace the suck.
We are deeply impressed.
Well not the US kicked Germanys ass in WWII. The Russians did.
In Germany there is still a proverb of the Nazi time about men who are not demanded: “Kamerad von der Westfront”.
That means: “Comrade from the western front”.
Guess why. :)
Germany was defeated by Russia in WWII. The US and the Brits were for sure helpful and heroic but not the decisive powers.
The US were the reason to gain a free Europe after WWII. But this is another story.

The American problem might be that the common German people see Putin much more as a friend than his US-colleagues in the meantime. You guys are not the good ones anymore on our side of the big pond. There is a basic turnaround in the public opinion.
The problem goes deeper. We are not only speaking about Germany. In almost all European countries this mood is the same. Even the Poles, the once staunchest American advocates seem to have understood that the Americans are not necessarily our friends.

Obama is only the tip of the iceberg. This started a long time ago. The transatlantic friendship with all its economic and political benefits is a exclusive project of elites in the meantime. That was quite different in the past (WWII, Marshallplan, Kennedy as a Berliner, Berin airlift, Reagan at the Berlin Gate, NATO Double-Track Decision etc.). During the last decade America lost its aura of being a good hegemon in the European society completely. Therefore many important things could be in danger soon. Something very dangerous happened.
There are difficult times to come. Therefore even such strong nations like the US need its friends. Think about it. Silly insulting trough spying is for sure contraproductive.

(Sorry for my bad English)
We can nit-pick about Russia's involvement all day and I'll give one statement
about that. They fought bravely for a country that didn't know how to win a war.
To bad Stalin killed more of his people than the Germans did.
