How will empowerment of Democrats this November protect us from the “caliphate”???

Your “remedy” does not treat the problem.

You ASSUME impeachment will empower democrats.

You embrace defeat before any effort to overcome.

Republicans need to impeach Johhnie - Gin bottle.

There are times when the most implausible becomes the most viable. This is such a time.
By all objective standards the CIC is decimating the military, weakening it and making it a testing ground for sexual deviance.
The CIF has left injured, captive and embattled soldiers on the field. His disrespect for his command is notorious among the ranks.
There are adequate grounds for his imprisonment and more than sufficient evidence for his enemy status.
Find another means for getting this job done.

Once again, the interests and well-being of We The People are in conflict with those of the RINO political elites.

But what’s the point if you don’t have 67 US Senators committed to voting for a conviction?

Because he needs to be impeached and disgraced otherwise he will refuse to leave office when his term ends and he will eventually get thousands of Americans killed. It has come to that point. We have no choice. He has given the world no choice. Time to wake up or die.

Boner is either too stupid or the NSA has the goods on him.

Never underestimate the power of blackmail. This is a plausible reason that many Republican senators and representatives have been unwilling to confront this administration. J. Edgar Hoover was a master of this technique, which maintained him as head of the FBI for over 40 years. As much as liberals despised him, they were also students of his methods.

WRONG! Politics is war by other means. The object of war? DEFEAT THE ENEMY!I have no patience for chest thumping stupidity, I have no patience for suicide missions that have no possibility of defeating the enemy.POLITICS is what we are playing right now. Get with the program. Learn the game. -— or take up knitting or bird watching.

You know what is more fun than knitting or bird watching? Respectfully raising an issue only to elicit a blustering and insulting response. Such a response does nothing to convince me that I'm wrong, actually, just the opposite.

All Boehner cares about is his next drink, golfing, his Congressional pension, his Florida condo, and looking at porn.

If Boehner is so bad, how can he stay on as leader? Are 51% of the house GOP that bad to keep re-electing him?

with enough R’s in the senate to convict I’d bet they still could not get it done.

Maybe not. The Senate is full of go-along-to-get-along types. But it is still the best and only shot.

If Boehner were a leader, our nurses at Walter Reed hospital would not have been furloughed while Obama gave $6 Billion to the Muslim Brotherhood.

What are the House’s constitutional options for dealing with Obama?

Although they can hold tribunals inferior to the Supreme Court, to remove a president, it must be by impeachment: “Section. 4. The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors. “

After they are removed from office, they can then be tried for the offenses that removed them from office.

However, I can’t find where it clearly says the president cannot prior to an impeachment be charged and tried for criminal acts

the President has the power to pardon.

If necessary a President can probably pardon himself.

I cant find anything that says otherwise.

The logic that I would use to say the president cannot pardon himself has to do with the Constitution first saying that Congress can impeach and convict. It provides no remedy for that action by anything. It says: and he shall have Power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for Offences against the United States, except in Cases of Impeachment.

So, if he cannot pardon other impeachments, then he cannot pardon his own impeachment.

If he cannot pardon the impeachment, then he cannot pardon himself for crimes which he has not yet been charged with, and the constitution specifically says that after conviction and removal from office, he is liable to criminal/civil trial for crimes.

My guess is that if he's legally charged before he's removed, then it's an open question whether he can pardon himself from those criminal offenses, but if he's charged when he's no longer president then he has no remaining power of pardon. A case in point, Ford had to pardon Nixon after Nixon's removal.

It remains, though, that the only recourse against a sitting president is impeachment.

But this is what it is. Impeachment, especially before November, would accomplish nothing but motivating liberals to vote….and right now, our advantage in intensity is our biggest advantage. We cannot throw that away.

And you're making a huge assumption that elections aren't rigged.

Even if the elections are rigged if the senate is not taken, impeachment will accomplish nothing of substance.

I watched Cavuto and Bret last evening. There were several Republican Senators and Congressmen interviewed. Each was questioned about impeachment. All answered no or not positive. At this point, there is no real effort to impeach.

There are enough current balls in the air to destroy Obama. That is te course...... destruction

Actually, I’m not making that assumption at all. But that’s a separate issue, and something that’s a far bigger issue in Presidential election years. But really, your quip added nothing to the point being debated. Nada.
