Obama's new plan for detained migrant children militarizes immigration policy [BARF]
The Guardian UK ^ | July 9, 2014 | by Michelle Chen

... Mass deportation will never address the underlying human rights crisis unfolding south of the border. These young refugees represent the fallout of decades of not only America's failed immigration policy, but of our destructive trade policy and inhumane foreign policy. The majority of these children come from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador – three of the many countries ravaged by civil strife, drug wars and economic turmoil precipitated by US political and military intervention over several decades, as well as free-trade regimes and the corporate plunder of Latin America's natural resources.

And still, willfully ignorant of this bloody history, right-wing activists demonize child migrants as a national security threat or as parasites on the social welfare system.

For kids from Central America in particular, anti-trafficking policies passed under the previous administration have entitled them to due process and a full court hearing to determine eligibility for humanitarian relief. And despite what the crowds of angry bigoted protesters say, that is a good thing.

The funding Obama seeks for processing deportations and border enforcement will only militarize – not humanize – our immigration policy.

The chaotic scenes at the border are a window into the hemispheric inequality that the US has cultivated – and profited from – for generations. To push away this youngest generation won't "send a message" about the nation's rule of law, because the cruel rhetoric of "sealing the border" can't outweigh message these kids bring with them to the border: that they're here, their rights must be recognized and that, when they seek refuge, they are only demanding the dignity that has been unjustly denied to their communities since before they were born.

This is a good example of the progressive Marxist point of view, and is what Obama really thinks about sovereignty.

There weren't any of 'their communities' before they were born................

None of our intervention in these countries has had any real effect on current conditions there. The bloodshed, poverty and strife is largely caused by communist/socialist government, as well as the legacy of past oligarchies and dictatorships. Like in Mexico, the hispanics in these countries cannot organize themselves into successful societies. Africa has much the same problem. Its their own fault.

The USA has done far more good than harm to them.

But, as usual, rather than focus on the truth and deal with reality, the left uses this kind of deception to harm the USA. So typical.

The problem is, they really do believe their own propaganda.

Obama wants detention centers staffed to process these kids — then give them to him — in Honduras and Guatamala.

Build them down there and send the medical personnel and bleeding hearts down there to process them and then turn them loose where they belong.

I wonder when we are going to get the real truth out of these kids? The MSM reports that all these kids from all over Central America were walking through several countries or brought to the border by coyotes or cartel members for a fee and they ALL just happen to end up at the border around the SAME time. Does anyone else see the BS in play here? My bet is that is what the kids were told to say and that they bused in and paid for by the US GOV. The kids were probably “selected” from lists of illegal alien parents that were already here that the Feds compiled from some source.

Going to be Captain Obvious here but I think Obama couldn’t get amnesty so he shoved it down our throat by sidestepping it using an emotional trigger he knew would work. He knew we would allow them to stay because they’re “children” (even though most are not). The man is a traitor of the highest order.

No bias there. This is all our fault. These are just our chickens coming home to roost.

I've seen some of the smuggled pictures. Most of the "children" appear to be a lot older than the media is portraying them. A lot of them appear to be in their 20's, but then again in Obama's America you are not officially an adult until you are over 26 and have moved out of your mother's basement.

Exactly. Big Brother is watching.

It’s not that the governments of those countries are incredibly corrupt. It’s the mean old USA that makes them that way.

Excerpt:

Recent legislative events

In 2006, Congress modified the Insurrection Act as part of the 2007 Defense Authorization Bill (repealed as of 2008).

On September 26, 2006, President Bush urged Congress to consider revising federal laws so that U.S. armed forces could restore public order and enforce laws in the aftermath of a natural disaster, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition.

These changes were included in the John Warner National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007 (H.R. 5122), which was signed into law on October 17, 2006.[5]

Section 1076 is titled “Use of the Armed Forces in major public emergencies.” It provided that:

The President may employ the armed forces... to... restore public order and enforce the laws of the United States when, as a result of a natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition... the President determines that... domestic violence has occurred to such an extent that the constituted authorities of the State or possession are incapable of maintaining public order... or [to] suppress, in a State, any insurrection, domestic violence, unlawful combination, or conspiracy if such... a condition... so hinders the execution of the laws... that any part or class of its people is deprived of a right, privilege, immunity, or protection named in the Constitution and secured by law... or opposes or obstructs the execution of the laws of the United States or impedes the course of justice under those laws.[6]

I wonder how the left feels about protecting whites in Zimbabwe whose families are being raped and murdered. Any sympathy there? The left wants the votes to move the country farther to the left. All this “compassion” is BS.

Maybe she has a point.

IIRC, didn’t Hillary Clinton have her very own Fast and Furious type operation of arming up MS-13 gang members in El Salvador?

Now why would Hillary want to escalate the violence in Central America by arming up MS-13?

It couldn’t possibly be part of a plan to flood the southern border with “refugees” fleeing the violence she helped escelate now could it?

Release the children in front of Pelosi’s homes. Either the mansion in San Francisco or the winery in Napa. Tell the children what she has now belongs to them

If you send them to the UK they will have to wait behind the radical Muslims that now occupy that country.
