I’m subject to drug testing at my job. It’s offensive that a welfare recipient isn’t, but has no qualms laying claim to part of my paycheck

will have to prove they don't smoke or use tobacco.
And yet they give the alcohol drinkers and alcoholics a pass.......
Alcohol, which destroys more lives and families in a single year than tobacco ever has in it's lifetime.......

A policy such as this enacted by a *health care facility* is,it could be argued,a reasonable one. Statistically men that smoke cigars and pipes live longer than men that don't smoke anything. That is because cigar and pipe smokers tend to have higher wealth. However a significant portion of the shorter lifespan of cigarette smokers is because of less wealth. Adjusted for this, tobacco use is nothing compared to the health problems caused by excessive carbohydrate use.

Anyone who wants a job...prove they don't smoke or use tobacco...will require a urine test for nicotine use for all applicants starting next July.

What if a prospective hire is chewing nicotine gum to break the smoking habit?

Anyone who wants a job next year at Anne Arundel Medical Center -- whether as a surgeon or security guard -- will have to prove they don't smoke or use tobacco. I'd think it would be easier to prove that I have no interest in working for dick-heads.

"We're sure it's enforceable," McGovern said. "We think it's the right thing to do in trying to create a healthy population. That's our role." NOOOOOOO. Step back from the crack pipe. You are not "in charge" of anything or anyone.
Your "role" is analogous to a car mechanic. People come to you with a specific complaint and want to pay for your knowledge and skills in remedying that issue. My car mechanic isn't so grandiose and arrogant as to believe that his "role" is to coerce people into having better operating cars, he fixes what you bring him, if he can. You are about 50 notches below him on the value scale, apparently. Keep trying, and some day you may be up to his level.

Frankly I think we would all be happier if we were allowed to exterminate fascists and go on about our lives as we please.Well, WE would be, and what they "think" doesn't matter. They're too stupid for their opinion to have any value.

When they start discriminating against those with a higher risk for AIDS, I just might consider buying into the bogus bravo sierra they keep pushing with this crapola.
Of course, knowing your adoration for the directives of those that made the changes in the definition of addiction, you will be the first to scream discrimination if hiring is refused by those with a higher risk of AIDS.

Same for Monica, but she took a hit off a Cigar in an unusual fashion.

As I said higher premiums for smokers is reasonable for all employers,IMO.But refusal to hire is reasonable,IMO,for health care facilities because of potential health hazards for patients. Smokers have always paid a higher premium.
Now, please tell me what potential health hazards there are for patients in a health care facility employee smokes on his/her own time.

"It contributes to more of the health burden than any other habit," said Cathy Brady-Copertino, executive director of the medical center's Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute." Not too sure about that. Compare the health burden of tobacco smoking to that of male homosexuality, for example. Oh, no, they can't do that study, because it won't get the seal of approval of the political correctness censors.
To: justiceseeker93
I support banning both types of fags.
