The photo is controversial. Snopes claims the girls are not brides, but "flower girls." This is problematic for two reasons: 1) their attendants are adult males and 2) the Hamas source which reputedly "refutes" the claim says that the actual grooms typically were wearing borrowed clothing because they could not afford to be decked out, which begs the question: where did the little "flower" girls get their bridal dresses?

At Memri.org [which takes no position with regards to the Palestinian "weddings," at least that I'm aware of] there's an interesting video in which an imam defends the "weddings" of adult males [sometimes older than 80] to girls [sometimes under ten years old] by saying "The Prophet is our guide." He then proceeds to describe Mohammed's well-known -- and completely accepted, at least in the Muslim world -- pedophilia.

Given all this, I think Hamas' attempt to sanitize the photos as showing something other than what they pretty clearly show is the kind of silly excuse that liberals swallow hook, line, and sinker, while Muslim clerics laugh up their sleeves at the gullibility of Snopes and other outfits who claim child "marriages" are a myth.
