Hmmm. It took about three seconds for the usual crowd to show up and tell us this will never work, all is lost...

Actually, I think it’s pretty creative and even if it doesn’t work - and Boehner seems pretty committed to doing it - it might get a glimmer of press attention.

Keep playing for time, crybaby.

If you’re not implicated in something dishonest or illegal, and covering for the Disaster in the Oval Office, I’ll eat my shoe.

Not words...

ACTION.

NOW.

Isn't there a constitutionally legal action that Congress can take at this point?

They can cut off the money, the only real power the have, but it is a biggie, but they refuse to do it.

How about the day after the election, in November?

It's called the House of Representatives, and John Boehner K-Street runs it.

Spaghetti for parachute chord is creative as well, and it definitely won't work. Neither will Boehner's stunt.

Ah, the stunt meme. How much are the Dems paying for this one? Not to get personal or anything.

But if you’re sincere, do you have a better idea?

You have to fight with the army you have.

I’ve always heard the only legal remedy is the impeachment process.

I'm no expert on such matters. But it's pretty clear to me that "high crimes and misdemeanors" are political crimes. There is a special provision in the Constitution — Article II, Section 4 — that stipulates that such political crimes are to be tried in the Senate. Not in the federal courts. This process is called "impeachment."

The House must bring the articles of impeachment, as a sort of grand jury; the Senate is where the case is tried. Only the Senate can convict.

So, why on earth does Speaker Boehner seem to be evading the clear Constitutional language here? Rather it seems he is trying to prosecute the President in the federal criminal courts instead of following the constitutional provision for such matters.

The federal courts are not constituted to handle "political crimes." Moreover, it is dubious that Boehner or Congress would be found to have "standing" in this matter under the rules of the federal criminal courts.

I hate to say it, but the GOP seems to like to evade the Constitution as much as liberal Democrats do. At least every now and then.

But I think Boehner is definitely barking up the wrong tree; and I'd like an explanation as to why.

Impeach, convict, then arrest for criminal acts. Successor Biden pardons. Useless when the tyrant is immune.

the time frame was planned to take longer than the rest of Obama’s term. We can wait to see if it works though, because it won’t and BOner won’t do anything anyway.

“Can’t he just be arrested for criminal acts?” Probably no. Maybe if he shot somebody and there were witnesses, but even that’s unlikely. All of the enforcement arms report to him. He must be impeached by the House and tried by the Senate. Democrats would, who are in the majority in the Senate, would not vote to impeach even if he was stark-raving guano crazy. (In contrast, principled Republicans voted to impeach Nixon. When was there last a principled Democrat?

There hasn't been a principled Democrat since they adopted the American Communist Party's intellectual property nearly 70 years ago. Obama could be molesting boy scouts, burning bibles and calling for a world caliphate and the Democrats (and big media) would still have their morbid case of fellating syncophany for the man.

Impeach and cut off the money.

As 2ndDivisionVet wrote:

“He could massacre a troop of girl scouts on the White House lawn during the Easter Egg roll, butcher them, barbecue them and serve them to all the participants and he still wouldn’t be impeached.”

All the while, the press would ask Mooselle what kind of spice rub he used and praise her for her potato salad while drinking the White House Kool-Aid.

Have you ever thought that maybe the American people don’t mind this inaction, because liberalism advances anyway?

Is this a joke or what!

I find NOTHING funny about the current border events and I know you don't either. What we see here is a "game" of political strategy between Boehner and Obama at the expense and safety of the rest of our country.

I think Boehner is pathetically weak, indecisive and lacking in convictions. The fact that he is the Speaker of the House would be downight comical if not for the seriousness of the issues facing the country today.

Sadly, there seems to be no real leadership in the country at the national level. A few governors are demonstrating executive skills but that’s about it. We are in a near state of chaos.

Eventually something’s going to give. It will take a serious crisis to turn things around.

History is full of resets. The only question is when and how severe will our event(s) be. Everywhere you look, the country is a mess. An absolute mess. Our reset can’t be that far off IMHO.
