Well, first, we have to understand what it really is, "mentally ill violence", but that won't fit the meme of the gun-grabbers.
It was the liberal's idea to free the nuts from the mental wards ("It's inhumane to keep them locked up!!") and that created the homeless "problem", which they promptly blamed on Reagan.
Never mind that most of them actually prefer to be on the street rather than in shelters (which are deplorable, but again, the libs say, "At least we're trying!!" - Blech).
The rest are free to live at home with family but are still nuttier than a fruitcake and need serious guidance. You know, like liberals do!
I’ve seen data that says: about 1/3 on the street, 1/3 at home, and 1/3 incarcerated (jail or prison).
