This article is an attempt by the NYT to rehabilitate Cochran’s image.

Things must be pretty bad in Mississippi if the big town paper has to ride to Thad’s rescue.

An ingratiating monograph for the ever distinguished, snowy-haired, tea-sipping carefree aristocrat...

The Left is depraved.

It is an amazingly positive story for a “Republican.”

Tells you how much of a threat to the Rat/RINO uni-party the TEA party is.

He isn’t going to retire until after he is elected and then Haley Barbour will appoint his successor.

That’s why Barbour is pulling out all the stops.
++++
Thank you.

But it shouldn't take 18 posts for all you other smart guys here at FR or the NYT to explain why this 76 year old over the hill Democrat masquerading as a Republican decided not to retire. Haley Barbour wants to hand pick the next Mississippi senator. That's it. That's what this is all about.

He just wanted to retire and take a nap.

And I’ll bet he wasn’t the one that suggested the vote fraud either. I’ll bet the instructions came from someone close to McConnell and taken via Wicker’s office to the Barbour people.

If this had been a Tea Party candidate that was involved in all this fraud, you can bet the NY Times would carry the story front page above the fold for weeks non-stop.

And don’t forget McConnell. It was posted that McConnell directed more than $800,000+ to Cochran’s campaign for the runoff. He is in on it I am sure.

I think they are filing this one away. For now. If Cochran manages to survive the stench and corruption around this and make it to the general, then all these newsies that are quiet about the scandalous and unscrupulous nature of this primary election will be braying like jackals about how untrustworthy and slimy the GOP is. The attack dogs will be unleashed, and the NYT will likely lead the pack.

And untold numbers of the “racist” and “hooded KKK” Tea Partiers will just shrug their shoulders.

He’s there for twelve months, retire, and allow the governor to appoint himself as the next senator. As messy as this got....they’ve instead screwed up Republican attraction in Mississippi for a decade. You can put up a bogus ad now....two Republicans sitting in a pool-hall....talking up who they will bribe for votes, and everyone will get a bad taste in their mouth from it.

When is he going to concede to McDaniel, or does he have to get indicted first?

This whole debacle is getting funnier by the minute! If the NY Slimes are trying to save Cochroach, then the fraud/vote buying way worse than what we know.
I pray this is is huge kick in the ass for the GOPe.

Can McDaniels get on the November Ballot?

I don’t think Republicans who voted for the Roach like the way he won, with paid Black Dems.

I bet a lot of them have buyers remorse. Hayley ought to go to jail for conspiracy to corrupt an election for a Federal office.

Remember Rob the former Gov. of Illinois.

Why, after a long, distinguished career — 42 years in Congress, including six terms in the Senate — was he seeking a seventh term?

Hubris?

He's addicted to the power & graft that comes with his pork handouts?

He's a dedicated self-servant?

Senile habituation?

Like Hillary, he's broke, not well off, and can't afford to be out of a job?

Once you get the power it’s hard to let go. All the parties, free dinners, free trips, free flights on private jets. John Glenn used to have a borrowed private yacht of his own to use at Catalina Island. Given him for his use by a grateful donor. Do you think he’s the only one?

Term limits are the only way.

By CHEATING, the GOP has
now made void the Election Fraud charge
that the GOP could have made against the DNC.

Just like ObamaCARE.

Just like non-citizens becoming POTUS.

Just like the Open border issue.

Just like the arming of al Qaeda.

Just like being HARD on corruption.

GOP = DNC = Death of Law and America
