Using it once is different from a long term habit, just like getting bombed once on liquor is different from being an alkie.

Fat has a lot to do with the function of nerves.

Which doesn't prove that THC in the fat affects the nerves. Are there any studies that demonstrate a lingering stupor (for example, slowed reaction times)?

True ... but I don't see the relevance to the exchange Proud2BeRight and I were having.

That’s fair enough; the tendency of scientific studies, as best I understand, is to say yes. And residual stupor increases with frequency of use. All this may have advantages in medicinal uses. But getting a buzz for the sake of a buzz ... I say there are better things to do with my life.

And so it is.

I am not as pessimistic about rebottling genies, but you need something more powerful than the genie to do it.

Have any links handy?

I agree - but adult individuals should be making that choice for themselves.

Do I correctly surmise that we agree that government is not that "something more powerful"?

I’ll get excited when Colorado ends zoning, licensing and permitting restrictions.

Actually I would assent to that. Government can echo the Lord and serve as a reminder, but without faith being there in the first place there is nothing to remind about.

I won’t be sarcastic and post a link to LMGTFY (Let Me Google That For You). I respect you more than that.

I am all in favor of full and frank discussion of the ins and outs of pot. Ultimately, yes the medpot people have a great point. It was “stupid” to delete it from the pharmacopoeia. But I wouldn’t suggest pot parties any more than Valium parties.

Sin always has “unforeseen consequences,” and sin doesn’t pay every Friday -— but payday will come, and the end will be as much if not more than the pain, misery, heartached, suffering, death, and sorrow generated by the alcohol industry. “God is not mocked, whatever a man sows, that will it reap.” This would apply to states and nations as well. The “wages of sin is death,” and “the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy.”

da ya go

Just make everything legal, and the crime rate will drop to zero, we won’t even need prisons and jails — big savings there.

The problem is not the item in the creation, but how it is used.

There is some imbalance at first related to pent up demand, but then a more balanced picture comes into view.

Thank you! In return, not only won't I point out that it's not my responsibility to check your claims, but I'll commit to doing some Googling.

There is a bunch of stuff at erowid, which does have a bias towards a hypothesized hedonic imperative.

I believe man’s truest joy is in something higher than getting buzzed, however. If I was made to rejoice in the harps of heaven, I don’t want to hang my quest up at the first kazoo to come my way.

There’s a big difference between benzos and marijuana. Benzo and alcohol withdrawal can kill a person. When you run out of marijuana, the withdrawal is as severe as damn, I’m out of marijuana.
