Before Shooting in Iraq, a Warning on Blackwater (Political and Distraction Piece)
NYT ^ | 29 JUNE 2014 | JAMES RISEN

WASHINGTON — Just weeks before Blackwater guards fatally shot 17 civilians at Baghdad’s Nisour Square in 2007, the State Department began investigating the security contractor’s operations in Iraq. But the inquiry was abandoned after Blackwater’s top manager there issued a threat: “that he could kill” the government’s chief investigator and “no one could or would do anything about it as we were in Iraq,” according to department reports.

...having been there - BW held to a stricter code of conduct that the US military - the incident in Nisuor Square was an ambush and nothing was covered up...they reacted as they always have reacted...

It's amazing that when REAL attacks perpetrated by REAL terrorist actually occur under the watch of Democratic leadership - nothing is said...especially when US civilians are murdered while being video taped or the US govt allows its own entities to target those they don't like through tax penalties...but oh no - a Catholic Conservative owner of a PSD is constantly stoked over and over again because some liberal POS newspaper thinks this is worthy of a story...

It is a WELL KNOWN fact that Specia Agents assigned to Baghdad didn't have the tactical or aptitude to conduct these missions (Inside the GREEN ZONE for the most part) and looked to former SF, Marine Recon, Army Rangers and MP's with prior combat experience) to do what they couldn't!

Of course there were special agents that didn't like the confident of Blackwater - but alpha types were hired and never lost a diplomat -- the Obama Administration can't say that - Hillary can't say that...this is nothing more than a distraction piece going back to rally emotion on a topic long decided!

Risen is the NYT clown who has been trolling the government for top classification national security leaks for more than a decade, then printing stories based on his half-baked analyses of bits and pieces of intel, creating a very dangerous world for the US and Americans. At last report, he has been subpoenaed by either the FBI or CIA for sources.

He is as low as one can get.
