I don’t know what “Americans by Choice” espouses, but Marilinda Garcia’s only two immigration-related votes in the NH legislature were not that of an open-borders/amnesty fan:

03/15/2012

Vote:
Marilinda Garcia voted Yea (Passage) - HB 1405 - Authorizes Moratoriums on Refugee Resettlements

02/01/2012

Vote:
Marilinda Garcia voted Yea (Passage) - HB 1383 - Prohibits In-State Tuition for Non-US Residents

She voted to prohibit in-state tuition for illegal aliens; how about that?

There’s a third candidate, Jim Lawrence, who looks pretty credible on paper (Ex-State Rep., USAF Veteran, etc.) and solid on the issues: http://www.lawrenceforcongress.com/home.html I don’t know if he’s competitive in the polls, though. Not sure of his ethnic background either (Garcia is half spanish and half italian and 100% cutie)

Looking back at the earlier posts on this thread, it seems Garcia’s main obstacle to the nomination isn’t her squishiness on illegals, but her casino vote. NH-2 is a tough district for any Republican to win so I’d have no problem supporting her over the RAT in the general, but she wouldn’t be my pick in the primary.

From the looks of it, they seem to be the amnesty-equivalent of “GOProud” is for gay rights:

That being said, I will concede her record on immigration doesn’t look half bad.

Lawrence was a late entry, I’m not sure if he’s a real contender or not but he sounds like a fine choice also. He’s reportedly the first Black candidate to run for Congress from NH.

Jim Lawrence is black. He served three terms in the state house, having first been elected in 2002 (I assume that he lost reelection in 2008 along with so many other NH Republicans), and compiled a conservative voting record. He is trying to run to Marilinda Garcia’s right, but his own campaign’s statements make it evident that both candidates are conservative: Lawrence touts a 98% conservative rating from the state’s House Republican Alliance during his final term in office, while Garcia’s conservative rating from the same group was 96%.

Frankly, I think both candidates are fine (as is Lambert), and I’d take whichever candidate has the best chance of winning the general in that Democrat-leaning district. I think that Garcia will have a better chance of picking up the female vote (and the horny male vote), and she’s stayed in the public eye through her continued service in the NH House, so right now I’m supporting Garcia.

"When there’s a SENATOR that’s younger than me I will truly feel old."

Speaking of that, of the 100 Senators serving when I was born, only 22 are still alive. No Senators are younger than me yet. Patrick McHenry became the first House member younger than me a decade ago, though I was less than a month younger than Adam Putnam when he was elected in 2000.

I think we could do with some younger Senators but I certainly won’t root for it!

Is anyone younger than you likely to be elected this time? Doesn’t look like it. Sasse was born in ‘72, Erst in ‘70.

Oh, Alison Grimes, November 23rd 1978, turns 36 later this year, I certainly hope that witch isn’t elected.

Ben Sasse is a couple of months older than me.

DJ claims to be a “Watergate Baby” because he was born in 1974, when all the “Watergate Babies” were elected to Congress, but I was born less than two months before the break-in, dagnabbit!

Yeah, Grimes might get it. Mitch will be entirely to blame if she does. Maybe Rand will get a tingle up his leg because of more “crossover voting” (of course, it will be angry Conservatives voting against Mitch), which he thinks is peachy keen.

I doubt the people of the Kentucky will be so retarded as to vote in an Obamabot. But it seems like half of this site is pulling for her, which is sickening.

I don't see Grimes winning either (of course, I noted there was no way Cochran could win the runoff unless MS had an open primary and there was tons of RAT crossover voting... which is unfortunately what happened)

The other long shot for Grimes is Rand getting his way with allowing convicted felons to vote, which would be a boon for the RATs and possibly starve off their defeat in several races where they're vulnerable in 2014. It's getting to the point that we don't need enemies with him on "our" side.

I think myopia on our own side makes it possible, people pretended that Paultard loser Bevin had a chance, then got mad when he lost, absurd. I’m more interested in beating the rats than taking part in circular firing squads pointed at the congressional leadership. Seems like some people would like to see the democrats gain several Senate seats, which is an ignorant and dangerous attitude.

If KY conservatives wanted Mitch gone they needed a real challenger, they didn’t have one, so his renomination was a fait accompli, I don’t see much point in complaining about it now. That *itch Grimes must be defeated.

Have we really become as crass as the Democrats, referring to a lady such as Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes simply by her last name? Would you have referred to First Lady Martha Dandridge Custis Washington as “Washington”? For shame.

I, for one, always refer to Alison Lundergan Grimes as “Grimey,” as she prefers to be called.

I no longer consider people like McConnell, Cochran, et al, as being on "my side." They've made it quite clear what their priorities are, and it's stopping Conservatives in the GOP no matter the cost. I don't vote or endorse people that I have no respect for, or for those whose actions have demonstrated themselves to be the enemy of my cause. They are the problem now.

A Senate with more democrats would be a much bigger problem.

I’d much rather have McConnell as Majority Leader than Cornyn as Minority Leader.

Some people wouldn’t seem to mind an 80-20 rat Senate so long as it was 20 Ted Cruzs, that’s insane.

Better they serve as Democrats openly than serve as such covertly within the GOP. That $23 million has been spent in this cycle, explicitly to defeat Conservatives within the GOP is criminal. I’d rather have 40 honest Senate Conservatives than 60 dishonest establishment RINOs.

I’m beginning to think that all democrats should be referred to only as “pig”, but that might get confusing. ;p

I hope Grimey meets the same end as her namesake, figuratively speaking of course.
