Normal people would try to resurrect, restore, copy hard drive or computer. Technology is here to do that. What effort was made to report and restore the “incident”?

IRS crooks are soooo smart that they “lost” the evidence and are covering it up.

They just don’t realize that techno lies are not that simple. One needs to understand compu stuff to lie and cover up convincingly.

Now where is the NSA comprehensive spying on citizens? Does not include IRS or they were ordered to “lose” their multi billion backups? Demand WH Zero records!!!!

Good point.

The IRS excuse might almost fly if this was a mom and pop business with one 15 year old computer but not for a multi-billion dollar, data intensive entity like the IRS.

When a comuter loaded with sensitive information goes down for the top execs in a massive organization like the IRS the exec doesn't just throw the computer in the dumpster on the way home or call his/her nerdy nephew to take a look at it over the weekend.

They have well funded IT departments with knowledgeable techs who operate under well thought out guidelines to protect data and maintain property control etc.
