Mark Levin: If I lived in Mississippi, I would not vote for Thad Cochran
therightscoop.com ^ | 6/25/14

Posted on 06/26/2014 6:19:04 AM PDT by cotton1706

Mark Levin opened his show talking about the Cochran/McDaniel election last night, saying that after what happened in this race he wouldn’t vote for Thad Cochran because he’d be betraying himself to do so:

If I lived in Mississippi, I would not vote for Thad Cochran, because Thad Cochran has besmirched me.

Thad Cochran has told Democrats, minorities, liberals, anybody who would listen that I’m a racist and that I want to stop black people from voting.

People assigned to him, people associated with him — Cochran hasn’t denounced any of this. Mitch McConnell hasn’t denounced any of this. John McCain hasn’t denounced any of this. Haley Barbour hasn’t denounced any of this.

They’re having a party! They won!

They won, and why? They’re so desperate to keep a constitutional conservative out of the Senate? They’re so desperate to protect a man in the early stages of dementia, because he’ll vote the way they want him to vote, because they can control him?

And that’s what we’ve become? That’s what the party of Lincoln has become? The party of Abraham Lincoln has become the party of race-baiting and food stamps? The party of Ronald Reagan has become the party of race-baiting and food stamps?

This is what happens when you have no principles. This is what happens when you’ve lost your moorings.

Reagan appealed to conservative Democrats on a cultural level. He appealed to their highest aspirations, not fear mongering, not race baiting, not by promoting big government programs.

No, there’s no way Thad Cochran would get my vote. I’d be betraying myself.

Actually....I believe the Democrat running against Cochran is considering switching his Party from Democrat to Republican. If that happens,
Cochran will lose. And if the Republican Establishment says no way....the Democrat should run as an Independent Conservative and he would get Republican, Conservative, Independent, Democrat and African American votes...plus he could vote and side with the Republican Senate majority......Methinks you folks in Ole Miss outta make this happen and be rid of Thad Cochran!!!

“This let’s elect a democrat stuff is a disaster.”

Is it? Will giving away one seat in order to rid the party of such scum really have a detrimental effect on the party? Just asking. It probably would not.

That is a double whammy!
The GOPe’s must be taught a lesson, since they now think they have
found a “winning” strategy by calling conservatives racist, and enlisting
liberal democrats to vote in a GOP primary.

Otherwise, they will continue to use this strategy in the coming elections.

Don’t just stay home. There are probably other worthy elections to cash your ballot in. You can always leave the US Senate part of the ballot blank or write somebody else in.

I did that here in MA and now Scott Brown is now out of the Senate and has packed up to try to fool another constituency.

I have a great idea. When GOP or a RINO send envelopes for donations, return them empty except a piece of paper with “Remember Mississippi” printed in big letters.

That way they get the message and have to pay someone to open the envelope.

Thad Cochran is going to lose in November.

Stopping a true conservative is more important to the GOPe than winning a seat.

I agree that no one in their right mind should ever vote for a Democrat.

That being said, I also would never vote for a RIBO.

That’s a great idea. I’ll do that if I get any but I haven’t gotten any in quite some time. And the envelopes always seem to require a stamp, so I don’t bother.

But if I get one of those postage paid ones, I’ll definitely do that.

What the national republican leadership did in your state was reprehensible. It is clear that a substantial majority of republican voters wanted a change and under the existing election law were denied that change by crossover democrat voters. I understand your frustration and anger but would respectfully suggest a different course in response.

Since your side is clearly a majority of the republican party, rather than electing a democrat to a six year term, it would be more productive to mobilize your majority to change the election law to eliminate the open primary system. The state representatives and governor would find it very difficult to resist this needed reform if faced with a determined majority of their voter base. With a closed primary system in place, future primary elections could not be hijacked by crossing party lines.

I am not as close to this issue as you, but it would seem to me that the people who perpetrated this injustice would love to see those of you who oppose their control withdraw from the process. I would rather take away their power to manipulate the system than to let them have their way. Your group clearly are a majority of the party; don’t let the rascals run you out of your own party.

Cotton, let’s find out who these other State politicians are who supported
Cochran and these despicable dirty tricks before we send them out to vote
in other MS State races.
They deserve to be voted out, as well.
All these MS hack politicians who supported Cochran need to be voted out, as well.

This let’s elect a democrat stuff is a disaster.

If you want to end the corruption and lies in DC, you have to vote for the less corrupt and more truthful candidate. The corrupt Oligarchy always gives them selves away by the dirty attack style campaigns they run, especially in their primaries.

In 2008, Thad Cochran won with 62% if the vote. This is with heavy Democrat turnout for Obama. If McDaniels runs as write-in, he could win with plurality.

If the GOP-E never sees any consequences for despicable actions against Conservatives, they will only get bolder in their tactics against us.

They need to lose this seat and SEE that it was because Conservatives would not forgive what Cochran did to McDaniel.

As for your game board metaphor: We lined up for a game of chess against the GOP-E, and they poured gasoline on the board and on us, and set both on fire. Then they declared themselves the winners and popped the champagne corks because technically, they “won.”

There is nothing I want more right now from the November elections than to see Thad Cochran lose, and I will drive to Mississippi and help with a Third-Party or Write-In campaign if there is one.

I don’t think Cochran can remember who helped him dress this morning either. Cochran is a senile stage prop. The Republican machine is who this should be directed to.

Do you know that none of the national Tea Party groups came to Brat's aid in his run against Cantor?

Having the words Tea and Party in your organization's name means squat unless you actually live the principles embodied in the Tea-Party message.

Shannon's record stood for itself. Add in the endorsements of Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz and the Senate Conservative Fund, and Lankford's implied, if not explicit, support for Amnesty, and the there was no choice except Shannon.

My friend, there are pictures all over the Internet of local and state Republocrats hamming it up with Cochran. I can assure you that my family and I will remember everyone of them in Madison County Mississippi.

I will never forget.

And yes I know the establishment GOP has done it to us. But we have to beat them.

We will beat the evil GOPe by getting people to vote for Childers.

Do you not understand the evil the GOPe used by accusing the Tea Party of racism???? That is absolutely unforgivable.

I live next to MS. I will encourage ALL I know in MS to vote for Childers.

First and foremost, the evil GOPe RINO scum must be politically destroyed.
