Thanks I guess that is a twitter thing
I have a nephew who is a AF PJ, several deployments in Afghan since 2010. He got a silver star & a couple bronze stars; and he doesn't see it as anything special actually. I think I'm more proud than he is, ha ha. Anyway, I got picts & the citations describing the event; they once were online on AF site. They had to recover a deceased pilot and Taliban opened up on them while they were winching body to pavehawk. Heli pilot had to exit area, flight engineer wounded, RPGs being shot at pavehawk, and PJs wouldn't leave without body. They got shot at for 6 hours, Taliban shouted their intents to take them prisoner,(was like 40-50 taliban 100 yards away in the rocks) then when AF showed back up; nephew got to give them reverse azimuths for hell fire strikes; told me was the coolest thing he ever done; imagine that, ha ha. Anyway, me don't mean to go on, figured you would appreciate hearing the story as it's in your chosen field.
Congrats on the award, it will follow you in a positive way all your life. Both you and your father have proven yourselves in battle as truly patriotic Americans.
Hand Salute.
