I am unfamiliar with "Torah codes", but if they're anything like evangelical-pop-culture's "Bible codes" then yes I would find them problematic. I don't believe in "proving" one's position via "hidden messages" contained in Scripture, before one is completely conversant with the plain text itself.

You should know, however, that the purpose of the Torah codes is not to "prove" the veracity and Divine authorship of the Torah (since that is already well known). Also that no one is more familiar with the plain text than Orthodox Jews, since they have to be able to read it without vowel marks or punctuation.
