No this is
DPS Department of Public Safety. For most part they are what other States call a State Trooper. Traffic enforcement on ANY road in the State/Statewide Jurisdiction. They also do other things like Drivers Lic/car tags/State Inspection for vehicle safety/Truck Weights/etc.
What they should do is send a few of The Texas Rangers down there
