A federal judge ruled Wednesday that "betrayal of the United States" may not be among the factors prosecutors cite when arguing that Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev should get the death penalty if he is convicted at trial.
U.S. District Court Judge George O'Toole said it was "highly inappropriate" for prosecutors to draw a distinction between a "naturalized" and "natural-born" U.S. citizen.

All citizens of the world are citizens of the US now.
Good. And I know the knee-jerk reaction is that it is not good, but from this Prosecutor’s point of view the reason that it is good is because to permit it would be reversible error. He will get the death penalty anyway and you do NOT want it reversed for this and come back for re-sentencing 5-10 years from now or even a possible tossing of the death penalty bu the Appellate Court.

Really?
Are they sure they want to go there?
Right... just don’t YOU go abroad with the expectation of ‘fair’ and equal treatment from the authorities outside the US.
There’s a dark, dirty cell waiting for any American who so much as spits on the pavement in other countries!
Hadn’t seen that photo. So he’s holding his d***. Seems about right.
Of course. Because to do so would uphold the Constitution.
I tell you, this illegal immigrant thing is subverting the US federal government. May have already done so.
If “betrayal of the United States” were criminalized, it would disrupt the entire federal government.
Oathkeepers take note.
FR is probably the only place you will see it. It’s been around here for awhile but most people have never seen it. I love to bring it up with democrats when discussing Obama’s dislike for America.
I’m ok with this kid not getting the death penalty. I don’t care about his rights, you understand. But as young as he is he has royally screwed up his life. He’ll never get married. He’ll never have children. Never do anything productive. He will be in a cage forever.
You sentence him to death, and you give him something to do. He’ll be working with his lawyer on his endless appeals. You sentence him to life without the possibility of parole, and he has nothing to do except breathe and try to escape prison rape for one more day. All of his decisions for the rest of his life will be made by someone else.
His hands are were his d*** would be, assuming he had a d***, but this one is all pu$$y.
That's why I'm no longer a big fan of the death penalty. After many many years of appeals and wasted money, they simply get put to sleep and then die from painless drugs. I hope I go out that easy. I'd rather them suffer with a life sentence with no chance of parole.
