The part where you answered it. You didn’t mention Hell or going there.
Your answer was ambiguous as if you didn’t want to give a definitive answer.

Well let's see. The scriptural quote I gave was based on the question - to Jesus - "what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

Now what's the opposite of eternal life?

Besides hell, I mean?

Anything?

So that's the answer to your first question.

Then you wanted to know who goes to hell. Well, how about those who refuse to "'love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself'"?

That doesn't seem too ambiguous. In fact, Jesus seemed fine with it. As I pointed out, He replied “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.”

Which is interesting, because it actually answers both of your questions - who goes to hell, and whether I believe in hell. Because what else can the opposite be of "do this and you will live"?

But for some people that's problematic. You see, some people believe that we have no goodness in us. That in fact, the proof that God is IN our lives is our LACK of love for each other. Review this thread and you'll see what I mean. So for those people, this teaching of Jesus's is very difficult, because He teaches that we have to "love our neighbor as ourself" and that the definition of our "neighbor" is one who "shows mercy."

Well how is a person supposed to "love" and "show mercy" if one has no love in oneself, because God has made us wretched and and loveless? It's a problem, I think. And why should we show mercey and love to each other, when we are all without any love in us? Did Jesus not understand that? Jesus, in fact, seems pretty confused about this issue, telling loveless people to love each other. Didn't He understand that that is impossible?

Maybe that's why you're confused about my answer.

I call you out Talisker. You are full of contentious words and slanders. For my part I put an end to this.

I asked you whether your teaching are God speaking through you, or your own personal opinions.

My reason for asking is extremely simple - you have repeatedly told me that I have no love in my heart, and that I need to reject all concepts of being good, and let God act through me.

And you have stated that God is not acting through me, nor speaking through me.

These are repeated personal attacks from you, along with condemnations of my very soul.

And for what? For my contention that Jesus taught that we are made from God's love, and that we are commanded to love one another.

For THAT, you condemn me.

So I asked you, very simply, who condemns me? You personally, in violation of your own declared standards? Or does God condemn me, speaking through you?

Very simple question, in response to your condemnation of me.

And yet here you make another condemnation, and refuse to answer the question.

Why? This is the essence of what you teach. Why can't you simply say God is speaking through you? Isn't that THE requirement you've used to condemn me? That God must speak through me, otherwise my declarations that Jesus taught love are actually evil teachings on my part - and wrong?

Didn't you say: "You seem to want to believe you are capable of goodness. That is only true so long as God has no place in your life."? Didn't you say that terrible thing to me? Well?

And now you run away, rather than answer for your own behavior, according to your own declared principles, after repeatedly condemning me by them?

Good.

Run.
