Rick Perry: 'We Don'T Have The Resources' To Secure Texas Border
BREITBART TEXAS ^ | 17 Jun 2014 | by BOB PRICE

HOUSTON, Texas—Governor Rick Perry (R-TX) appeared on Fox News’ Fox and Friends show and said Texas lacks the resources and manpower to secure the 1,200 mile Texas border with Mexico.

The comment sent shock waves through a Texas grassroots discussion thread on Facebook this morning of activists who are seeking a special session call from the Governor to deal with the issue of border security.

Impotent Perry.

The beauty of the Constitution is that defines the powers of .gov.

Congress and a State are the only numerated branches that have the power to enter into War.

Art 1, Section 10.

'No state shall, without the consent of Congress, lay any duty of tonnage, keep troops, or ships of war in time of peace, enter into any agreement or compact with another state, or with a foreign power, or engage in war, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent danger as will not admit of delay.'

The rumor alone of armed “deputized” Texas citizens amassing on the border would virtually stop illegal immigration overnight IMHO.....

Border security is the job for the Federal Government.

This is why it is important to have a “well regulated militia”. We are in the midst of an invasion and the President has refused to enforce the laws and has allowed the states to be the victims of an invasion.

This, of course, is an impeachable offense, but Obama is black.

Deputized or not, I'm in. All that is needed is invitations from ranchers along the border.

This is freakin insane! A federal gubbamint that doesn't even abide by it's own law.

Out-laws? I dunno, just sayin

If you don't have the resources to secure the border, send out a press release that every illegal alien interviewed by state officials say they are coming to the US to vote for Republicans.

Watch how fast a wall gets built after that.

Amazing how simple that is, isn’t it.

Maybe you should consider whether NM is Red or Blue.....(duh)

Well, they’re being sent to NY, too.

(Duh!) But, thanks for your (un)informed snark ;)

Obama has no authority in the matter. The Governor of Texas is vested with the authority of the Texas Constitution.

After having checked both the Texas *and* United States Constitutions and you'll find that the Governor of Texas does have substantial command authority over the Texas Army and Air National Guard but the President of the United States has *ultimate* command authority over every uniformed member of the United States Armed Forces...including the Texas National Guard.Osama Obama could overrule any order given by Perry with a 30 second phone call.So could the Secretary of the Army or the Secretary of the Air Force.

In Texas, there are no statewide offices held by democrats.  Many 'former' democrats switched to being 'republicans' once they knew they couldn't get elected with a more honest label.

Perry is an opportunist, and we're fed a cock and bull story about his 'conservatism' which has kept him in office. He's big on amnesty.

He's not going to do anything about this latest invasion because he's not currently running for office, and doesn't think it will help his presidential ambitions.

The Texas National Guard and the Texas State Guard are two entirely separate entities. Obama has no authority over the Texas State guard. Perry can deploy them and the President can do nothing about it.

Its all moot anyway because Perry is a complete Globalist sellout and will do nothing to impede the 3rd World invasion.

Interesting comparison of two Dictators when losing became inevitable:

* Hitler’s Fast tracking of Death Camps and

* Obama’s Fast flooding of Illegal Alien Invaders from Mexico.

IMHO: both Dictators saw their fast actions efforts as THE FINAL SOLUTION.

Stop giving these leeches welfare, and you’d have the money. Plus, considering unemployment, I’d imagine that you could find tons of people willing to build the fence.

There’s enough money in Texas to build a fence around the entire US, if they had the will.

Actually this may be a brilliant move by Rick Perry. Protecting THAT border is whose ultimate responsibility?

The DHS is responsible for securing America’s borders, protecting America from terrorism, executing immigration policy and organizing disaster preparedness and recovery.

Sometimes I think if we built a fence to the north we would be better off.

Secede.

DC is the problem.

The federal executive has no authority to alter a state constitution.

The federal executive has no authority over the Texas State Guard.

The federal executive has no authority over the Texas reserve militia.

The federal executive does have authority over the Texas Army National Guard and the Texas Air National Guard only when they are called into actual service of the United States. At all other times the Governor is the Commander in Chief of these forces.
